If you are camping and you use an air mattress, this one should be on your radar.
It's the best I've tried so far. Below is a pic and a link to my review at MotoCampers.
Also, as you'll see in the replies, BJ just stated these are on sale at cabela's (http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0013104513723a&type=product&cmCat=Search_Results_NYR&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=sevylor&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=sevylor&noImage=0).
I cannot put in words just how much more comfortable this one is compared to the others I've tried. That includes thermo-rests and cheaper air mattresses.

Rolled up, the mattress is 15"x5" and the two valves at the foot-end have a 1/4 inch opening.

Good looking air mattress.
I didn't see the pack/compressed dimensions... would you measure them and post?
And yes I would like to know how small it packs after a 6 day trip rather than what the dimensions were right out of new packaging! :)
Thanks,
Mark

It packs the same, the material is more like material and less like rubber so there are no surprises there. I fold it in half width wise, then roll it up. So, it's about 15 inches x 5 or 6 inches. I'll get the exact measurements when I get home. The nice part about this material is you can roll it up or you can fold it into whatever shape you like for how you pack. It's not rigid at all.
Sounds great.
Thanks,
Mark

Joe, what type of valves for inflation does it have, opening size for pumping it up? :biker:

It has two towards the feet end. The openings are smaller than a pencil so it will usually take the smallest fitting your air pump has. That's one drawback is I wish it had bigger valves.
I'll take a pic when I get home to show you what they look like.

Thanks, was hoping that my high volume low pressure rechargable pump would work:mad:

I got this Coleman twin mattress right before WeSTOC and was super impressed with it's comfort.
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5303858
It held it's pressure very well and didn't sag due to the way they have the pockets designed.
Came with it's own carry case also. worked very well.

I've had 2 of those that have gotten punctured. They are very comfortable but I don't seem to have much luck with them. Rick (Trailace) had one that lasted for years and I went through a couple in a year.
I loved them when they worked. Also, there's too much air volume for when the temps drop. Your body can't warm the air so it will actually suck the warmth from you. It's a delicate balance to get something comfortable that will work in many different temperature ranges.
Sorry, not downing your choice, just offering my experiences.:popcorn

I have this one and it worked fine, it just takes a little while.

I cut the loop off the end of the smallest nozzle and that just fit in this mattress.

I have one of those little jewels also and am quite pleased with it. It wil inflate and deflate my mattress several times before a recharge is necessary.

It doesn't work as well with the smallest nozzle, it just can't force the same volume of air into the mattress as with a mattress with a bigger valve. So, you might get 2 or 3 uses out of it on this mattress before needing a recharge. On my bigger mattress we use for kids staying over, it could probably go 5 or 6 times.

I have noticed that mine will inflate my twin mattress a lot faster than the little one man jobby. I about to retire the little one though, as I expect to take delivery on my new Eureka 7 tent tomorrow and will be able to almost stand up and dress, have room for all my riding gear and my Kermit chair and still be able to pack it on the ST. Wooohoooo!!!!! See you next month at Garner.

Is it the Eureka Tetragon 7? If not, do you have a link?
Speaking of tents.... a couple months back, I purchase an El Capitan 4 from Wilderness Supply in Canada.... and I have to say, it is built like a rock. It will be perfect for two person camping with all gear... or one person camping with just a ton of room.
I also wanted a smaller 2 person tent so I just ordered the El Capitan 2 this week. It should pack down really small in a compression bag and will fit better on my KLR.
I liked this model because it has 5000mm 75D floor and a 2000mm 75D Full fly with Hi-Low vents. Both of them have the same amount of vestibule space also (3FT at each door) which should be perfect for all my gear.
I can't wait to use them! I think I might need to cancel my room reservation for WeSTOC 13 when the area details are posted (IE: Find the local camp ground).
I got options man.....gotta have options! ;)

I camp a lot, but never, as yet on the bike. I use a Thermarest basecamp (see below) which is self inflating. I'm a bit on the large side, (though in the ACL weight loss program!) and the Thermarest has never let me down. All you have to do is open the valve, and the mat unrolls in a minute or so. If you like firmer suspension, half a breath of air before closing the valve helps. Deflation entails opening the valve and rolling it up.

Joe, how effective is this mattress at insulating you from the ground? The Cabelas website kinda leaves out the R-value information - along with pretty much everything else....
I was thinking of an Exped Synmat 9 Deluxe. It's half the weight and twice the price of this one with an R-value of 6.2. The down one is R-8 but another $70 & maybe 2 oz. lighter. I'm not up for that one.
Trying to get some stuff together for camping at DesertSTOC in Feb.

Beats me... It's just an air mattress... However, I've used this in 28 degree temps and it was comfortable.. I did have a fleece blanket between the mattress and me and I was in a 30 degree down bag. I slept like a baby.
The Exped stuff is very nice and very expensive IMO... the mattress handles all my needs.

+1
Not sure what the temp was the only time I used mine, but stuff outside was frozen when I got up & I had my best nights sleep ever in a tent.. Did not notice any cold coming up through the mattress. I love that mattress :D
Thanks for the replies. I have read about air mattresses transferring the heat from the bag to the ground, leaving you very cold in the am. Obviously a blanket statement referring more to the vinyl type.
I carry a Cycle Pump with for those unexpected inflation needs. Can I inflate this mattress with it or will I need a second air pump? I have asthma so lung power isn't an option.....

A cycle pump will do it... it will take a while as they are made more for low-volume but higher pressure.. but, they'll work. I usually carry a separate 12 volt air mattress pump but even those have issues with the small inlet hole on the Sevylor mattress. I have a balloon pump I may try out on my next trip to see how I like it, also, sevylor sells some round bellows-type manual pumps that probably work bettter than the electric ones, just gotta figure out how to pack them.
