This year, there are two options, both calendars are 2008 formats but we
kept the images this year's (2007) calendar also. So, you have two choices.

A HUGE thanks goes out to Mark (Blrfl) for getting everything formatted and
also a BIG thanks to those that actually hit the road and took the incredible
pictures inside.

Also, an apology for the cover, apparently Mark has a bad sense of humor :nuts1:

Enjoy..

Here's the calendar with the new images:

Check your links Joe, the one for 2008 images takes you to the 2007 images.

Check your links Joe, the one for 2008 images takes you to the 2007 images.

There aren't any 2008 images, those will be next year... It's a 2008 calendar with images from this year (2007).

The other link will apply the images used on the 2007 calendar (2006 images) but use a 2008 calendar format.

Yeah, kinda confusing... basically, Both calendars are 2008 but the images were either taken in 2006 or 2007.

What you say lasts a moment. What you post on the internet lasts forever :)
I thought the same thing for a second then figured out 08 hasn't happened yet before hitting the send button. :crackup

I already have the pictures for next year's calendar.

You're going to love to story about the June picture, but I'll leave it to Joe to explain how his shiny red '08 ST came to be parked next to a live elephant in downtown Dallas. That is, after the incident happens.

:D

Speaking of Elephants....when I was young and had just
started working out of Tampa, I was driving in an early morning fog in Venice Fla (the winter home of the Circus, which I did not know on this am) and saw a midget walking
an elephant on a public road...for a second I thought I must
be loosing it....

and since have.

What a great calander. Already ordered mine. I'm hanging it up in my office space to show off to my Harley riding co-workers.

Tampa? Midgets and elephants? Good to know I'm heading there this AM for business.

Ok...ordered mine. The five dollar offer does not come up until after you place your order. If you send it to a friend, they have to use it by Dec. 6 and spend $50. Dont waste your time. IMO.

George...I think you have me confused(happens a lot- close to same handle) with IndyST( Mike). He wrecked his 03 ST and got pretty banged up. I think he is at home recovering.

Its a real shame that only one picture from Europe made it into the 2008 calendar:-(

But I am sure pleased that the one from Europe is one of mine:) (January)

Does anyone know whether they will post to the UK?

Peter - Yes they will ship to the UK - but you'll pay some import duty / GPO handling fee on the way in. I forget how much this was for me (I ordered +3 around this time last year), but 'er indoors sorta half recollects that it might have been around the 20 quid mark .. :(

To be fair to Joe and Mark & Co that organised all this Peter, I'm wondering just how many European submissions they received throughout the year to choose from? I don't re-call that many - maybe one-twelfth of all submissions were European? .. I dunno? But if this is the case - and without wanting to make this sound all pathetically political - then they probably got the overall proportionate winners about right - and us lot on this side of the pond have got no-one else to blame but ourselves.

I didn't submit any pics this year, because quite frankly, I didn't think any of my 2007 photos were quite good enough. None included from the Oceania region, or other global regions either? Maybe for the same reasons? Not enough submissions / just not up to scratch.

But your January pic is a worthy inclusion - absolutely on merit, I thought this when I first saw it some time ago. Well done.

Mellow
12-02-2007, 08:49 AM
You're right Keith, I don't remember many UK or Non-U.S. pics posted. Peter had some of the best pics, that is unmistakable.

I let Mark choose the pics and he's done a great job in the past. My only comment to him was to have both ST1100 and ST1300 pics in the calendar, at least one of each.

We could do a UK calendar however, as Keith pointed out, shipping and other fees make it a bit expensive. Maybe there's a UK option for cafepress-like stores? If so, maybe someone in the UK can take the ball and run with it. I know many would be interested in seeing more pics of STs everywhere in the world, maybe even a Global ST Calendar, that would be cool.

There's a 2009 calendar submission post, here (http://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32353), so, please post your pics.

There weren't a whole lot of them, and believe me, I look forward to seeing pictures from places other than the U.S. We have grass and mountains here, but subtle things like the signs and road markings from elsewhere make for nice visual variety. (And for all I know, maybe I was subconsciously obeying some obscure EU regulation forbidding the publication of large numbers of European pictures in foreign motorcycle calendars. :D)

I really liked the shot of Jökulsarlón, Iceland from last January and decided to carry the "ice and snow" theme for January through to this year, which have Peter's photo a bit of an edge. His shot of Slovenia was nice, too, but it had a composition problem I couldn't work around.

The short story is that you have to snap 'em to get 'em published, and I encourage people outside North America to submit pictures of their travels. Even if you have good a picture that you don't think is a masterpiece, post it anyway. Sometimes I'll see something in the shot that you didn't and will crop it, and a large number of minor problems can be corrected.

Dang that was fast ! Ordered sunday night got them today. I have to admit i thouht that shipping was a little high but now i know why. These are heavy . Not just flimsy cheap thin paper. Great quality and the pics look better than i thought they would. Only thing i would like to see is maybe ST OWNERS stamped on it a little bigger . That first picture was a scary one for sure. :) I showed it to my Harley riding buddies and they got a kick out of Mellows picture.Great calender and love the quality. THANKS !:bow1:

Actually, the sale was completed on 12/10 so it's been 2 weeks.

Based on their help page:
http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/shipping.aspx#1

To get it today you would have had to order by 12/8. So, I'm thinking later this week.

Are you watching the shipping tracker? They "delivered" a calendar I ordered on Dec 5th to Raleigh, NC when it should have been Minneapolis. I contacted Customer Support who promptly issued a new order, except this order doesn't even show up in my account and of course no way to track. So I sent another complaint to Support and have yet to hear back. I suspect they are overloaded with orders right now.

Peter

Are you watching the shipping tracker?

Sadly we are not able to track international orders

I am sure they will be here soon

I ordered all 3 separately for Tax and Duty reasons so it would be strange for all three to go missing and as Mellow said I still have a few days to go before they are due

Sorry, it wasn't me... I'd like to do that this year but last year it didn't work out too well, you have to sell a whole lot of them to get enough to pay for one for a member. I don't think I was even able to do that for everyone last year.

My idea was to, as the actual profit from the sales roll in, and when the balance is enough, ship a free one to the person that contributed for Jan, then Feb, etc etc.. the 30-45 day period is here so the balance should start to build, last I looked it was $7... so, since Jan was Peter he can get the first one or pass that on to the next person if he likes.
