I recently noticed that a lot of the Superbike guys use a helmet mirror. Anyone have any experience at using this kind of mirror? I have used them on the 17lb two wheel version of what's called a "bike"....but how about motorcycle helmet mirrors?

Thanks kooler....
The mirrors I've seen on the Superbike guys are ouside side mirrors. They apparently could be used on any helmet...

Looks great.
One of the comments says that it blocks field of view: I disagree... it looks like it would take the place of the black tape people put on the top of their visor to block the sun.

But I wonder if there is any ventilation at all with this helmet...

I don't know without actually trying one on and testing it. Looks like it may give me a headache if you can see that mirror all the time.

I guess I don't see whats wrong with the mirrors on the bike that I would need something like this.

A head check sometimes does not tell the whole story on the lane next to me...Looks like if you used this helmet for a while (got used to it) you'd know if some tuner is zooming up behind you...
Or a pack of squids...

The only thing that really concerns me is fogging.. we have enough of a problem with that with shields and with your head being where you loose the most body heat, I'm wondering how that would affect it in varying climates.

As the webbikeworld review states, there is no adjustment for the mirror so it's better suited for upright seated bikes, not sure if that includes the slight lean forward of the ST.

It's a great concept.

Thanks Joe.

I like it; but, ventilation is *really* a big thing with me... I'd have to have it compared to some other helmet before I would feel good about dropping 4 bills on it...

Here's some wishful thinking:

Let the center of the mirror reflect "normal" images, and the right and left sides reflect convex.

Heck, when available I'd order one!

Thanks.

I really like the concept of the mirror within the helmet, but I always have trouble finding the right fit.

As was mentioned, I also use mirrors that attach to my bicycle helmet and I like them a lot. The only problem is that I break them all the time.

Maybe it would need a flap also as the sun behind you could also blind you!
Maybe auto tinting like mirrors in cars
The mirrors that stick out would make for a hgard fit in the side bags

One thing everyone has overlooked ????? What happens if you have a pillion on. Me thinks that all you would see is the pillion. now THIS COULD BE GOOD but this could be reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally bad too:eek:
