Considering going solo to Death Valley as I did last April. Any recent visitors there lately? I fell in love with the place and would like to see it again.
Advice and feedback welcomed..

Death Valley is about 350mi. north of where you are going.
Should be good weather out here, sunny,65°-75°, but windy. Good luck on the ride.

Call and make sure the roads in Death Valley have been repaired (or which ones are still out of commission), they had nasty storms last fall and a flash flood wiped out a campground (hearsay: I didn't read it, I only heard it).

The place will look a lot like PS right now I bet... GREEN with flowers.

Ride safe,
Mark

I was there on Saturday. Absolutely beautiful! :clap2: Mostly green and yellow, some purple. I don't know how much longer the flowers will be in bloom though.

I entered at Scotty's Castly near the north end on 267 and left through Shoshone on 178 near the south end. The road through the park is in fine shape, but there are still some smaller roads closed from the flooding.

It was about 65 at the top of the valley on both ends, and about 80 at the bottom.

Unfortunately, I was in a cage at the time. :( We flew to Vegas for the week and took a side trip in a rented car to the valley. Can't wait to go back on my :03biker: .

I think I took over 100 pictures.

When you're on the main N/S road in Death Valley, there's a little side trip off the road that is not to be missed. Called Rainbow Drive, or Artist Drive or Paintbrush or somesuch. It's a one-way, very narrow, paved road that runs several miles through some spectacular multi-colored rock formations.

Can't remember exactly where it is but you'll run across it. There are signs.
