Have new waterproof winter gloves and boots are next. Don't let anyone tell you that mink oil will waterproof leather.
I agree with TOM. Raining and 30 something degrees. I almost jumped on the ST saturday and headed east.

I wouldn't say up, just started. :p: I'm working on it. I see next year everybody will have to get on Terry and I to get started around August. I actually got the bug to start yesterday. My daughters stomach will tell you all about it. I kept making little adjustments and adding things. Don't forget corrections after publishing it. She just wanted me to cook dinner.
I'll work on it a little each day. I know the biggest day will be when I post the registration page. I'll have to sneak that one in when nobody is watching. :D Of course, I'll just let you know.... I haven't even built the database yet. (Terry said people are asking for it already) We need to make some changes to it. You know the usual more stats for Terry and a few request pleasers. Nothing too serious. I just have to remember all the formulas for the Terry stat sheet. :)

You know Coop, I always tell myself two cheese burgers when I go to Moonshine, but then I get there and think I don't need the extra bun. I end up getting the double and regret it. Its not two flat patties that we are normally used to getting at the local fast food. Its kinda hard keeping two baseball shaped patties on top of each other. :D
Speaking of shaping hamburger patties, will you be helping Helen out this year? Or will it be more empty promises? :p:
Terry, I was just thinking. If I get a forum up and running, no promises, but we would have to start an elephant ear sandwich thread. I do have a teeth cleaning coming up so,,, I would like a bag of their best stuff...
You ask,,, what does that have to do with Teeth Cleaning???
I believe you eat a bag of Jerky on your way to your teeth cleaning... Get your money's worth I Say!!! :crackup
I just went for my teeth cleaning on Monday. Had lunch right before, forgot my toothbrush, felt really bad for the hygenist. She gets 97.2% done with the cleaning and says "hmm, how was the beef for lunch?". I almost died in the chair. It doesn't help that she's pretty cute and funny.
That will never happen again!

I'd like to see New England Win. Its been since 1972 since Miami has done it. Did they have preseason games back then? Cause NE has lost two of those.
I read that offer for ACL and just started laughing knowing how often he goes up there. Isn't that how Moonshine 2006 got started?
I can't believe ACL whips out 3 links to Moonshine and not one of them is his own events webpage. I'm slaving here. Hahahaha!:D Not really, it is still fun! So fun, I decided to start taking classes at night.

I thought there were rules about people from Illinois owning Packer tickets or stock. ;) I guessing you'll be at Kroll's West before the Lions game?
We don't have season tickets but we get to 3 or 4 games a year. My wait for Badger season tickets was a lot shorter than it is for Packer tickets. We put both of our kids on when they were born and they are both in the 70,000's on the list.
Moonshine is marked on the calendar so I'm planning on coming down.

"Better to have and not need than to need and not have"
I learned my lesson last year. A "good" friend told me to use mink oil on my gloves and they would be waterproof.
Had to stop at the rest area and stand in the restroom with gloves on the hand drying thingy.

Ok guys let me see if I understand correctly, Moonshine is a 1000 mile ride (for me) in the rain, or better yet freezing rain. The idea is to ride to a town with a population of 2, with no twisties to get a burger. Get back on the bike and ride home 1000 miles in the freezing rain or snow. Does that sound about right? Can I at least get a cheese burger??Fries??

Snow... don't forget maybe snow...

My opinion,
Fair enough. I just prefer stuff on my back because it seems that a logo on the front emphasizes that things are a little bigger around the mid-section.
Either way I'm in, as long as the shirt isn't yellow. It clashes with my Red bike!

My opinion,
Black shirt can be done, but since the "posers" have all that black and leather, I wanted something different. I must have a jillion t-shirts, I don't think one of them is yellow...
To simplify the logistics, it will be best to keep the shirts all the same color (also keeps the price lower)

cool... pick gray or grey then... either way I'm good. I have to say, I wear the burgundy one from last year, but it's the only color t-shirt I have. When I do laundry I have two piles... white and black/grey. If it's not in one of those piles I use it for waxing the bike or polishing the furniture.
Tim
I rather it be gray than grey,,, just my opinion

Ya just gotta make judicious vacation sources. When I was full time, I had 5 weeks plus 10 more days "personal" time, plus 7 Holidays. Plenty of time in there to go get a burger.

Read this post from a fellow Moonie and thought it could not be better said so I post it here... :bow1:
I have been to the last two Moonshine Lunch Runs.
I can honestly say that the ride out there that morning with mxvet57 and the MACK guys in 2006, and my ride home with Seeker last year where two of my most grueling rides in my short time on a motorcycle.
More than survive, I learned a lot myself by going through the cold. On the ride home last year it was slushy wet and even with my gear I was soaked to the bone.
I say all of that because while this trip will not take you to see glorious sites on twisty roads. The people you will meet is the reason for this trip. Riders with accomplishment's like riding coast to coast in 50 hours. Riders who log 100k plus per year. Riders that stop by as they crossing the country in April. The inspiration go places and see new things that you will take from this event is the real reason to go.
It's the Yin and Yang of it....

Ok,,, me thinks we are going to have to have a "New and Improved" plan for Sunday morning Breakfast!!!
2 years ago we had maybe,,, 10 come for breakfast on Sunday morning...
Last year my guess is,,, 20 came... Eating downtown with 20 is no problemo...;)
This year??? So far,,, already,,, with still over 70 days to go,,, we have 63 saying they are staying for Breakfast!!! :crackup
This is GREAT!!! But,,, we will blow up any place within 20 miles if 63 people roll in on a Sunday morning to eat!!! :nuke1:
So,,, My Plan you ask??? I am thinking of having another "Cook-out" but this time have it at the Comfort Inn... That way we can still eat their Cereal,,, Bagels,,, Apple juice,,, Milk,,, what ever else the Comfort Inn has anyway and use their plates and bowls ya see... ;) How does this sound for a menu???
Sausage Patties cooked on a grill along with Bacon...
Scrambled Eggs...
Sausage Gravy...
Biscuits which you can have a Sausage patty biscuit,,, Biscuits and Gravy,,, or just a Biscuit...
Any Left Over Sweet Rolls from Saturday we can heat and eat... :eat1:
Start serving at 7am,,, and quit around 9am or when the food runs out...
Cost??? Free... Ok,,, we might have a hat to toss a $ or 3 in but way cheaper than a restaurant,,, and we get to all be together,,, and have plenty of room...:D
So,,, Opinions??? Lets hear what ya think!!! ;)

I'll take a guess: Fat Man Bass (Rene from Netherlands) is gonna stop by while moving his Florida based ST to California. Do airline miles count?? :D
No,,, but I hope he does stop by!!! :D
I can say this,,, the rider is from another country,,, but is riding here from his home...
We also have a Mild commitment from a COG'r I became friends with that lives in Burmuda... But Airline miles don't count I don't think... But we might have to have a Ruling on this someday... :duck:

Ok so is the distance to Moonshine only calculated from your origin to Moonshine or can you take a trip to a point and then ride from there to Moonshine?
Looks like someone is coming from British Columbia.

We might have some moaning "IF",,, someone rode from their house in New York,,, down to Jacksonville,,, to San Diego,,, BACK,,, to Jacksonville,,, and then,,, to Moonshine and rolled up 7,000 miles... (((Yes,,, I have been asked)))
Me??? I think that would be COOL!!! As long as you show you are not setting around,,, and you are moving about everyday...
Looks like someone is coming from British Columbia.
