New owner of an ST1100. I'm a big guy at 310-320 once dressed (like clothing will really add substancial weight  ). My wife is a cute little thing around 120. I was planning on upgrading to Progressive 420 rear and springs up front. However, I've asked on another board/list and was suggested that I may be happier with a Works, Hagon, or Penske.

I'm just looking for some feedback on those using these units, or maybe if you think I should consider something else?

Geared up I'm pushing 300 so aftermarket shocks are pretty much a requirement for me. I have used Works Performance shocks for 30 years with excellent results, until now.
My Works shock is in for it's third repair in 14 months. Same problem each time, the hydraulic pre-load adjuster eats a o-ring and loses it's oil.

Hey Paul,

I have the Works Performance rear shock system and after only two months has also developed an oil leak. I am in the process of getting a new shock instead of a repair. The unit I have is a lemon. I am glad I did not sell the OEM one!

The factory settings based on my specs/riding level were not really done at the factory as promised. There was 3 1/2 inch sag when installed. This required almost a 80 percent tightening on the soft and hard pre-load to get it with about 1.25 sag.

I have read several other posts about Works Performance quality declining :(
