Hey guys,

I just spent about 2 hours cleaning after having to ride in road construction mud and rain this week. As I was cleaning my pipes I noticed an extremely small are of corrosion in the bead of the weld where the collector goes into the triangular exhaust. It is parrallel to the bead and on the top.

I am gonna buff it our and poilish again on top but I am concerned since I clean these things all the time and they are a little less that one year old. It is not on the stainless it is in the welding bead

Take a look and see if you have any areas in the welds were corrosion is visible. Secondly, any preventative step besides buffing out and protecting?

I noticed the same condition on my pipes last week. I washed the ST and the corrosion seemed to disappear. Today I was doing some ST farkling and noticed that the area was still free of corrosion but that the drain hole was pitted and showing some signs of corrosion.

I noticed the same thing. Just a spot on the weld. I cleaned it up and it's just like new again. I wouldn't worry about it.

I think if you look, you will find that on most of your welds. I believe it is a by product of the welding that Honda does. I was told that it was not rust and not to worry about it. It has not spread anywhere that it can be found. I covered the welds with touch up paint that I see alot. :)
