Starting to look at tool kits for long trips, anyone ever use any of the Cruz Tool kits? Are they any good? I always have the 3 tools that I use best, cell phone, credit card and AAA membership card. I just don't like not having a tool kit. Their kits look pretty good to me. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I've got one of their folding multi-tools and a "T" shaped wrench with 3 sockets on it 8, 10 & 12mm if I remember right. Got them both as perks for renewing my HRCA membership. They seem well made and I've put them to moderate use. Probably wouldn't have bought them but I'll take free tools any time! I've no need for their full zoot kits as I can piece together a pretty complete (and specific) set for longer rides from my existing tools

I've got the HRCA freebie multitool. I love that beastie. It's always at home under the saddle on my 1100.

I was supposed to get the HRCA freebie multitool but got a letter that said Honda was sending me something "even more valuable" -- an air pressure gauge. Pissed me off enough that I called HRCA and said, "Do better." Ended up with a 9-LED flashlight, and the gauge arrived in the mail a few weeks later anyway.

Anyone know if that multitool is available somewhere?

You can buy the multitool from Cruztools. It's just the metric version.

I got one when I first joined. Then I got another when I renewed. But I gave the second one to my dad for his birthday.

I got one of their $100 or so metric kits a few years back and like it a lot. Don't leave home without it!

+1 on the HRCA freebie tool!

This is a great item and I use it more than most of my tools since it is always handy.

Honda Riders Club of America. If you buy a new bike, Honda gives you your first year free.

Did anyone get anything this year? I sent in my renewal, got the new card, but nothing to send in for free stuff.

I also have the Cruz tool, I use it for my Dual Sport bike. For me, Cruz is WAY over priced. I picked up a 3/8 - 1/4 socket set at Sears that does everything I need, for $20.00. It also came with a carry case. I do not think I can get the carry case from Cruz for $20.00 let alone with tools!

How much is it to renew? My free first year is up in March.

If I recall correctly, anual membership is like $40. Check it out at http://hrca.honda.com

I got my second multitool for renewing this last summer. Dan, is that recent enough to cover your question?

HRCA membership does offer a few other benefits that might be worth having, for those of you who haven't checked it out. Free emergency towing to the nearest dealership. Discounts on hotels. Red Rider magazine. And free access to the shop manual online.

Hey STNY,
That's the one I've been looking at. They didn't have it in stock, just the fanny pack one and the fender mount kit. How small does the RoadTech roll up, does it take up much room? Thanks.

I got both the LED flashlight and the Cruztool folding tool kit this year One when I renewed at Americade and then the tool with a coupon I got later with my card.

You can buy the kits at Whitehorse gear.
