hi all
well from the uk northeast and just bought a pan 1300, brief history of me is as follows have had 2 st1100 which i loved mates convinced me to get a blackbird which i did and was a lot of fun but as they were crashing round me i decided it was time to move on.... bought a bmw 1150gs which was great fun and terrified sports bike riders , But wife got ill and it went. so i have decided i need a bike and just bought a st1300a4
first ride disapointing but wet roads and gale force winds did not help my first
20 so miles, thought it was a big lump of lard, then remembered the pre load and found it was set soft as lard, so dialed in a lot of the hard stuff and its turning in a lot better, view from the mirrors is not as good as i remember the old pan but maybe i am wider in the ***...... the electric screen is very good as everybody has there own riding position and the screen can find the exact spot to remove the wind noise, (but it does look like a scooter with the screen right up )
but am looking for a great summer

best regards to all

Welcome to the site. The more your ride this bike the more you will fall in love with it.

Where in the NE UK? I lived in the Cotswolds for about 4 years and wish I was there to ride today. We'll probably be making a visit back there next summer.

Again, welcome and congrats on the new bike.

Bill, welcome aboard the board!! I don't think you'll be dissapointed. As many of us have found out, you really need to ride the ST1300 to know how to ride it! It's got a lot more than you actually realise and you'll probably be gingerly riding it at first. Once the demon breaks out in you .... well let's say you're in for some fun ...

BTW, I was riding in rain today and the windshield is really really excellent. Did I say "really" anywhere ??

well thanks for the replys guys
sorry its an 04 model deep blue which is very nice and a matching honda topbox
am from the northeast of uk in durham wich is blessed with a lot of very tricky b roads small twistys that are fun, i think my first run will be to whitby wich is a very nice old harbour that am sure you all have heard of

as i said have had two st1100 which i loved dearly but mt last bike was a gs1150 which seemed a lot more nimble and i used to scratch it on a regular basis, but i do think your right i just have to get back in the groove, the bigest pain i have is the manual did not show so not sure how to adjust the seat which will also help i guess,

on another note i read some of you guys lower the foot pegs in the usa wow would never dare do that here with our roundabouts!!! :04biker:
