I ordered the Corbin Smuggler trunk and seat in black faux snake three weeks ago tomorrow (friday) Got the Smuggler trunk today . :D
Let me see how I can describe it on the bike .... cool , no, really really cool :D :D :D :04biker: The pictures do not do justice to how *****in this thing looks on my ST .
A few details ; I have the GIVI top box and the Smuggler clears the mounting brkt. but the opening lid does not clear the edge of the GIVI . sooo .... I had expected this and plan on useing the Smuggler around town without the GIVI . On camping trips I will probably use both as the GIVI comes off easy enough and gives the Smuggler a bit more security . The inside of the Smuggler is well padded . The fit on the bike is tight . Did I mention how good this thing looks ? ;) I had expected to get the seat first and am waiting for that to come soon . :)
Guys ..... if you are tempted by the pictures on Corbin's web sight all I can say is by all available means go for it !!
Will keep you all posted .
Really really enjoying the ride :04biker:

How's is the room in it... they say it's quite a bit, but we know how merchants streeetch the truth :D And how thick of a pad did you get or they recommend since you got the seat too? Inquiring minds gotta know ;)

Can you slide the GIVI mount backwards ?
There is a bit of play.... Did you mount the GIVI yourself ?
Cheers,

There is plenty of room on the inside . As for the GIVI mount I have it pushed all the way back on the bracket . If I wanted I'm sure I could drill the holes in the bracket back about an inch which should be all the clearence needed for the lid to clear . The combination of the Givi and the Smuggler really make for a versatile combination of ways to go . I am more than happy :D with the look of the Smuggler on the bike , really is a first class design . The black snake skin on the pad looks cool & can't wait to get the seat . To WAY COOL !! ;) :04biker:

Pictures may be awhile . I don't have a digital camera and am notorious slow in getting film developed but as soon as possible I'll get some out . As I said this set up looks way better on the bike than 1) I expected  ! 2) the pictures on Corbins web site . So if you're tempted go for it . :04biker:

Farblue - great to hear about the Smuggler - I think it looks so cool on the website - it's definately a wanted item here. I am really interested in the seat though - not a lot of ST's up in these parts, so there is nobody to ask how the seat feels or looks on the bike. When you put your seat on, please send me an email directly as to your thoughts - fit, finish and most of all - how does it feel after some time riding.

Thanks

Just post under reviews, please :) ... I am looking into that seat as well :D I don't think I can do the Sargent with the short legs I have, plus I have a crush on that Smuggler :p:
If not, just email me the details too robert.hughes@equifax.com
Thanks,
Robert
How does the stock front seat work with the Smuggler? Does it fit well?

The stock seat fits just fine with the Smuggler , blends into it like it was designed that way from Honda . I can't say , oh yes I can , how well this thing fits in with the lines of the ST . My buds at the Honda shop are all eager to see the 'new' ST .
It has been rain & snow all day here in Reno so I have spent much time in the garage today :( The more I look at the black & grey snake skin pattern on the pad the better it gets . When the seat gets here this bike will be over the top !!!! :D :D :D :04biker:

I was at Corbin with my wife last weekend getting a custom Canyon dual sport seat. I had a chance to put the Smuggler on my bike and I do have to say that it really follows the ST lines. It is now on my list of future farkles. I mentioned that it was priced more than a Givi top box. I asked about a group buy for discount. The rep said they were not set up to handle individuals under a group buy but suggested that a dealer might negotiate a volume purchase and pass along a discount to the group. Any dealers willing to explore this option???
My smuggler just came in today.
I ordered for an 05...sadly...the smuggler is a pretty...but totally non matching..metallic purple!
Corbin guys are gonna hook me up and repaint it off Honda's color codes. Interested to see if this is just a fluke or trend.

That bites... are they eating shipping costs to fix it up for you? That had to be a heart breaker to open the box up and see it that color :( Keep us posted on the outcome... ;)

That sucks . Go figure . The blue on mine is a perfect match to the bike . The seat should be shipping next week and is needed badly :bow1: . Did a couple of 200 mile rides and the stock seat is a royal pain in the BUTT . Planning a few looooong trips this summer that I would not think about on the stocker after last summer .

They are taking care of all the shipping and were super cool on the phone. Just hope it doesnt take another 6 weeks...cause I am planning a 2k mile trip in 4 weeks. I wont get my hopes up but *crosses fingers*.

:D My long awaited black snake skin Corbin finally arrived today :bow1: It is STunning . The STitchery looks first class . The only bummer is i'll be out of town this weekend on a family get together . This seat looks better than anything i've seen from Russel or Sargent .If you're thinking of getting a Corbin check out their leather choices , there is no extra charge and any of them really give a custom look to the ST .
Oh and it looks GREAT with the Smuggler ;) It has been rainey here but maybe I can sneek RIDE A IN TOMORROW !!!!
REALLY ENJOYING THE RIDE :04biker: :D :04biker:

How come your selling it? Didn't like it?
Brian :03biker:
...it arrived 2 days after I left on our South Dakota Run.
Just in case this hasnt been mentioned elsewhere...the smuggler is NOT usable with the Hondaline TopBox. It will of course fit on the bike but you cant open an use it with the TopBox in place.
Also...round two...they matched the paint spot on. They didnt charge me a thing for round about shipping and the painting of course. Was a lil slow...but I am still happy with the service.
If there is interest...I will take some pics an post em.

Doh :( I was there in person, and they color matched my smugger to the bike; and did a pretty darn good job of it too. I'll get a picture posted once I'm feeling better (sick and missing out all sorts of fun things this weekend :( ).

While it's true you can't open the smuggler with the GIVI or Honda box there is a fix ..... take the mounting plate off and drill the mounting holes to the front of the existing ones. This will move the top box back about an inch and a half. Works with my GIVI and I am a happy camper :)

Any know if the Honda box can be moved back to work with the smuggler like the Givi can?

I order the Smuggler when it was brand new and received the purple unit in the picture. How could anyone in Quality Control ever think that that was a match. I sent it back on their dime and received one that was almost right. I happened to be near the factory and dropped it off to be told that the mistake was that it was the Honda Rune color. A short time later, I got back my unit and it is a perfect match. I guess that there is a learning curve involved. I am very happy with the fit and finish...finally. It is roomy, but the back pad is truly more for show. Yes, I sometimes feel it, but I'm 5' 9" and don't stretch back that far. My left fairing pocket is filled with a radio and the right has garage openers, etc., it is very useful for carrying cameras, papers, gloves, and such. It does look cool. It comes off in seconds and the Pirate's Lair backrest and Honda rear seat goes on for my better half to ride along.
The leather single seat is of very high quality, yet it feels like it pushes you forward. I've beaten it many times with a rubber mallet and it now is starting to feel right.
I'm happy and finally satisfied with the Smuggler. As I said before, I think it was a learning curve for Corbin that now has been solved.

Under a Thread called New Smuggler there is a picture of my then new Smuggler.
CAUTION: After one year I found a slight ripple in the black paint on top of the Smuggler which is from intense exposure to the bright Iowa sun.
To minimize sun damage to your dash don't park your bike facing North.:mw1:
To minimize sun damage to your Smuggler don't park facing North...or East or West.
I think I should be asking for advice rather then giving it.

Klackey, It took all of about 4 weeks to get it but, like I mentioned it was the incorrect color. After contacting Honda and getting the color code for the 07 ST Corbin still was unable to match it correctly. I eventually had to send them the small side cover for the engine to assist them that was late February 08, still waiting. Thankfully Corbin has been very responsive and has paid for the shipping. When it does eventually arrive I'll post some pics.

Sorry you are having color issues. I was able to order mine a few weeks ago and they had it "on hand". I got it two days later......... I just love the look and the extra storage. Actually now when I see a ST without, it looks odd as I have gotten so use to mine. Good luck........ Corbin is a good co to work with.

The saga of the smuggler has finally ended on a happier note than its strife beginnings. It took all of 4 months from order to final delivery. During that time I had to send it back because it was originally painted the incorrect color. Even with the color code from Honda USA I still had to send them my engine cover so they could match the 07 silver color. Well it finally arrived with the correct color and it installed without a hitch. I am able to use the thicker pad as a lower lumbar rest while riding.
I think the smuggler really completes this bike by giving it an overall sleaker almost sport bike type of appearance. I am able to still throw my leg over it without a problem maybe thats because my inseam is 34". I love the look and the space is adequate for smaller items.
