My mother died suddenly Sunday night while taking care of my ailing father. My father has a long list of ailments and will never leave the hospital. We were told he could go at any moment three weeks ago, so it came as a real surprise when Mom went first. My sister and I are traveling to Portugal tonight to see to the details. Like many, I feel like you are part of my extended family. Keep us in your thoughts.

My prayers are with you. My ailing 89 year old mother will be traveling that path soon. Her quality of life is nil. Even though it is for the best, it will be very sad for me.

John,
just up the road from you, in Newtown, both of my parents are hanging on at the end of their ropes. I'm in Florida but my 2 brothers are there doing what they can.

I find myself envisioning the same situation you now have regularly. It's a difficult time for so many of us. Best wishes to you and yours John, may your Mom Rest In Peace.

Regards,

Bones

Unbelievable!:(

So sorry to hear of your loss! What a tough break! Lost my Grandmother 7 days before Christmas some years back! No fun!! Just want you to know that I'll be keeping you and your family in my prayers! May God grant you peace with this and may he help your Father as he walks down his own path of difficulties.:pray1:

Thank you and your loved ones for all the support and prayers. Our trip went as well as we could have hoped. My Father died 7 days after my Mother, in answer to the prayers of those in the community who knew his condition. We were able to see him one more time before he passed. We like to believe he somehow knew we were there and was finally able to move on.
My sister and I will always be grateful to the love and support of those who helped us through this most trying time. We are home safe and at ease with the thought that the peace which was so elusive to my parents during their often troubled lives, is now theirs.

I know the story and sorry for your loss.....my thoughts are with you.

lost both parents within 10 months (87 and 83) about a year
ago....after 5 years of surgeries, pills, nurses, I mean quite an ordeal.....me as primary care in our homestead...

Seems like first it is shock, then sadness, then loss and then as time passes relief, renewal, appreciation appear with frequent spells of disbelief.....even seeing it coming for years, it does not seems like something you can prepare for....
