I don't know if John is a forum member here but he is an ST rider who's been active in SEATriders (South Eastern Arizona Touring Riders) as well as an MSF RC.
John was in a serious crash near Oracle Junction coming back from a ride with the Saddlebrook group. Two riders were with him, one of them an EMT, and the first person that stopped was a doctor. He got immediate help by people that knew what they were doing so that's a good thing.
Meanwhile, he's in bad shape: broken scapula, clavicle, ribs, hemothorax and some bleeding in the brain. He has had a couple of seizures and is on a ventilator, heavily sedated and cannot have visitors other than immediate family at this time. He is at UMC (University Medical Center, in Tucson).
The riders were headed Southbound on a two lane when car driver blew a stop sign to head Northbound across their path of travel. Unknown if the car driver was charged or not.
Anyway, lets keep him in our thoughts and prayers.

Sorry Raven, he's on my prayer list now. Glad he had all the professional help available so soon.
I'm praying for John. I think it helped a bunch for my recent medical emergency - nothing compared to what John and his family and friends are facing. Medical technology is amazing but it needs all the advantage it can get when tested to its limits.

Good thoughts your way John.
Any update??
Raven,
Really sorry to hear this.
Is that the group that joined us for breakfast at DeserSTOC? If so; did John attend ?
He is in my prayers...
Mark
P.S.
I missed this on the 2nd... I was down in Tucson...
He was taken to one of the places that sponsor the UA Nursing program I applied to. I have my fingers crossed that I'm accepted. UMC is my 1st choice for my clinicals too.

Yes, some of the SEAT folks did join us for breakfast and John was there.
So here's the latest info that just came in today.
He's been released from the hospital. He's still sedated and it's unknown the extent of brain damage. The family has requested no visitors since John's still pretty out of it due to pain meds, etc.
I'm shocked that he's been released after such a short time. I know medicine is constantly getting better but I spent 10 days in hospital for a broken femur and busted tib/fib 10 years ago and John's injuries seemed much more severe.....
Anyway, thanks for all the good thoughts going out his way.

Prayers and more sent.
Mark. I'm pretty sure you and I sat with John at the "mixed riders table" in Bisby. It was the huge heater that sucked me into that table:)
