I have a EXO-700 Scorpion Helmet which I really like. I also have an old Nolan flip-up which is about done. I had been thinking of getting another Nolan, maybe the New X-1002 when I read this review on webbikeworld Summit XPV helmet (http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/vega/summit-xpv.htm) Have any of you tried this helmet? They give it high marks especially considering the price $129 delivered. WOW! :D

WOW! Can't beat that price  I have a Symax and a CL-Max... Really like the Symax... but it was about $30-$40 more than the Vega (I think). I have a Vega XTS leather half helmet from my old cruiser days, really liked it.

You might also check out www.splathat.com, www.helmetharbor.com, and www.helmetcity.com. I have had excellent service from all of them :D

The only issue with the Summit is the poly shell. You are better off with the fiberglass of the Symax. I just purchased new helmets for both my wife and myself and tried them both. They were very comparable. What lead us to pay a little more for the Symax was the fiberglass vrs the polycarbonate (absorbing the shock instead of repelling it), the fact that the Symax locked into the open position (so the flip up won't slam shut if it is open), and the ability of replacement shields and parts. I can find a dozen HJC dealers in any major city. Most places won't stock the Vega, and if they do they will not have readily available shields and parts.

I got the Symax for $160 online with free shipping.
