I'm testing this out.. if it's too obnoxious, I'll remove it but I'm limiting it to only event links...
What does this mean.. okay.. if you use the word W E S T O C, without spaces in your post, it is automatically converted to WeSTOC and will show a popup window with the WeSTOC banner, the other events will show a popup of the event dates/location, like with CampSTOC . I can disable that to just a link from the keyword...
I wanted a quick way for members to get to a link about an event.
Let me know what you think.
Hope you like it.. I'm in the process of doing all the events so give me some more time and all of them will be auto-linked.

Hey Joe, thats kinda cool. How will the other members set this up , or , will be an admin tool only ?

It's admin only.. .and, since it's only events.. all you do is type the stoc event name and it's done..
There's some performance overhead associated with this so as long as it's only used on a small number of links it shouldn't affect site performance.

Now , what would be really cool , is if you can put a link inside the little popup with google map coordiantes . Like WeSTOC is in TAOS NM and when you click the link , shazzzam ... google maps right to the spot.
Never mind ... I just clicked on the popup and it took me to the proper post.

I can put a link in the box.. but haven't gotten to that point yet, you can put as much as you like in a box but I wanted to make it simple.. there are quite a few different options with this little mod.

When I edited the post asking about the linking , it lost its functionality. But , when I refreshed this post , the link was back.

Yeah, it's the quickedit... that function doesn't reload the page so the autolinks won't show up until that's done.. it's a quirk but not a real problem.
