View Full Version : Tax Rebate = Group Buy?
I was thinking today about the pending Tax Rebate, and decided that if it happens, I'm going to make a concerted effort to do my part for Uncle Sam and buy something instead of saving it like I normally would.
That said, I was thinking that we could consider stretching our tax dollars into a collective group buy. That way, we could get more bang for our returned bucks, and if some of our over-the-border-brethren wanted to get in on it, they could benefit from our windfall too.
Any ideas? :shrug2:

I'm thinking it would be cool to fund a site-bike.... One that could be custom painted with an ST-Owners.com theme.. obviously, I feel it should reside at my place...
Just a thought, and a used one would work too... doesn't have to be an '08.

I think we should get a Gold Wing for members to test ride. This way we could put to rest once and for all the discussion over ST vs Wing. I am willing to keep it at my house and maintain it as a gesture of dedication to this Forum!
And Alicia's idea would actually put money into the U.S. economy!

OK, I want to help, too, so at my house we can keep a VFR, an ST and a GL so we can compare the performance qualities of each.
We can keep the Ducati 848 at my house, too.
Glad to do my part to help the economy. :-)

Isn't Joe dumping enough money into the economy already with all of his visits to the DQ on his wing? :crackup Now that's funny right there. I don't care who you are. :crackup

Want waffles with that bacon??
Joe, ordinarily I'd say okay to your plan, and since it's the US economy we're trying to boost, we should buy a US product.
Enjoy the official ST-Owners.com Harley Road King!

Buy a large block of stock in DQ? With all the Wingers out there, the ROI should be pretty good.

ROI, as it relates to Wingers and DQ, means "Ride On In" so yes, we can count on pretty good ROI.

I thought ROI meant Real Old Individual.

Hold your horses fellas...The stimulus package is stalling a bit in the Senate. We may not get those checks after all. :banghead:
I don't want a check from them that puts this country deeper into a debt they cause!
I want them to stop spending so I can spend what I earn without them giving it to their largest donor! They could simply quit passing around what isn't theirs to give away with earmarks!
Please, please, please! Load the bill up so that it doesn't have a chance of passing.

If you want to know why the goverment is doing this, go here: http://www.time.com/time/time100/scientist/profile/keynes.html
I don't like our goverment plunging any farther into debt, either, but it is the right thing to do.:o:

Trouble is, it's going to pass no matter what they load it up with. The House will find a way to compromise with the Senate's version and Bush will "reluctantly" sign it.
It's an election year and everyone who's running who votes in favor can tell their constituents how they put MONEY in their pocket this year.

I think I may take some of my rebate and buy a couple items from Turbo Tom that I have been wanting and the money just ends up going to other bills.

:06biker: The thing I found amusing about the rebate, the fed chairman says we should go out and spend the money on domestically produced products, by the time you find a made in America product, the crisis may be over!

I am so proud to call myself a member of a website, where, there are so many people that would store and maintain a bike, that the rest of us would probably never see. :bow1: ;)
You guys really bring a tear to my eye. :D You guys are real givers.

I often say to the "you should buy a Harley" crowd that if I wanted a large American motorcyle, I'd get a Gold Wing. :D
