Now THERE's an interesting choice. One would think either NM or the 50's for turquoise.

This is my personal favorite. I'm considering doing something similar on black but with white reflective checkered.

Joe,

Did you take those images of the Richardson PD bikes? I'd like to find out when they do training and see if we could show up to watch.

You'd be surprised how many people do.

I start my bike course on 31st March for 15 days (they give me the weekends off, gee thanks awfully kind ;) )

I can't wait. We had the ST13's but they were withdrawn due to safety issues at high speed. We've moved onto BMW's.

Looking at the colour scheme on that one it was one of the Honda demo bikes RA02 Z** (I think there were 4 of them) that went around the UK forces.

I bought one of them which had been sold on to a Blood/Organ agency (long story)

That piccie may well be the one I bought!

Looks like it was in Sonic's workshop!

Cool schemes. You UK folks are ontop of the high visibility game. That fuchsia / blue "Brattenburg" design is VERY slow to catch on over here on this side of the pond.

Health and Safety paranoid over here!

The battenburg style is being adopted as the national standard for all authority vehicles now.

Police Yellow/Blue, Amblance are Yellow/Green, Fire Yellow/Red

We don't use the ST13's anymore, so those pics are the last of the line in the Humberside Police colour scheme. Our new fleet is FJR 13 & R1200RT's and these are now in the battenburg style.

The rationale is to be seen, so our kit is Day-Glo yellow with Scotchlite reflective stripes for night time use. :policeST:

"National" standard ah, not in the states...too much independence and tradition here! I have seen it in upper Washingston state though.

There has been some kicking and screaming over here too!

Here's me with one of the new bikes (scanned from a magazine article where me and my team tested winter socks!)

Just before I came into my unit, our troops traded in thier leather jackets for these:http://www.publicsafetyspecialties.com/police_motorcycle_jackets.htm
Really nice, but not as visible as our fushia rain/wind breaker gear. I got a couple of troops who insist on wearing the fushia over the armoured jackets...so it's always a battle of jabs and laughs over who is wearing what!
