In search of a small, magnetic tank bag. Only needs to be big enough for a portable CD player. Any suggestions?

This is a great one, I just sold it to Carl T but it was big enough for my MP3 player, case for my glasses and some misc little things.

If you want a GREAT Tank bag,,, which,,, NEVER touches that Tank,,, and is the perfect size/Shape/Height for a ST 1300,,, this is it...
Luggage Locker (http://www.luggagelocker.com/luggage-tank-locker.htm)
Yes,,, it cost more but,,, it NEVER,,, touches your tank,,, and it locks onto the bike but still only takes 3 seconds to detach to fill the fuel tank...
I own one,,, and am happy to say I am 100% pleased as Gomer Pyle on weekend leave with it... SHAZZAM!!!

Any problems with the handlebars touching the bag in tight turns? Mine hits my horn, but my bag can flex out of the way. I would worry that this one wouldn't...

Joe Rocket also has a small tank bag that would work.

The guy that builds these took a Luggage Locker down to his Honda dealer and designed this bag totaly for the ST 1300... On the Luggage Locker site you will see it shown on Crotch Rocket and most of the Bag is forward of the Gas cap where it hooks on...
On the ST he has it the opposite... Most of the luggage locker is behind the gas cap and just about 2 1/2 inches I think is in front of the gas cap...
Also,,, he made indentations in the metal plate which the Luggage locker sets on so as to let the handle bars turn into the bag more... Will you still have to get you a "Horn Proctector/Starter Protector thingy"??? Yes... But,,, they do not hit hard on the metal plate,,, just pushes ever so lightly on the side of the bags,,, just enough to honk your horn so everyone knows your an idiot... Yes,,, yes I know for sure about this...

Here is another with my bars in a full lock turn to see how the bars just hit the bag... I do have the Larry Risers on mine... As you can see,,, JUST enough to honk your horn just as a pretty girl walks by and either your wife or Pretty Girls Neanderthal Boyfriend happens to be near... And we all know how painful both of those can be...

I've got to get me one of those...I've got a new paint job in the works and I was not looking forward to putting the magnetic tank bag on a custom job. In the lower pic, any issued with the bag and chest contact?

None/0/Nadda...
I know it looks like it might,,, but it doesn't...
The Owner of Luggage Locker SAID,,, that he would do a group buy and said it showed it on his web site... But,,, i couldn't find it... He tried talking me into getting everyone to sign up through me and then I would get $$ from him for each sold but,,, well,,, that didn't really seem fair,,, and I would rather see the guys buying the stuff just get a bigger discount...
::::::with that,,, you can see why austin/terry will never be rich now can't you:::::
I will contact him again and see what he says if there are enough wanting to get one of these...

Cool Brian,,, I will let you know as soon as I know anything...
Here is another picture showing the bag from the rear... My Street Pilot III is mounted on a Ram mount off of my Motorcycle Larry Risers and works out great... You can see the Speedometer over the Street pilot and the Street pilot over the tank bag...

The Marsee Rocket Pocket 11 liter fits the ST nicely, and at about 8" wide can be positioned so there's no issue with controls. I've got the magnetic version - about $115 from Cyclegear, with rain cover.

Ok,,, I went back to the Web site and found the info about "Group Buys"!!!
I have no idea other than it is well documented,,, that I am an idiot on how I missed this before...
Thank You for your interest in a group purchase of a Luggage Locker product. We are most appreciative of you choosing our luggage. This is an explanation of how the program works so you’ll know what to expect concerning your discount.
Because there is no way to know how many sales will eventually result in the group purchase until after the closing date for the purchase has passed, we charge the buyer the full price when we take the order. Once the closing date has passed, we total the group sales of our full luggage products, calculate the discount based on the number of sales, and issue a refund for the amount of the discount you are owed. It’s the only way we can do it as we deal with individual orders coming in. If everyone could get together and put all the orders in at once, we could charge the discount price to start with, but as we all know....no sale is made until the money is in hand, and there is always a difference between the number of people who say they’ll participate in the group…and the number who actually do. It’s for this reason we have to calculate the discount after the sale time period has closed when we know for sure how many actually took advantage of the offer.
Discounts are based on this formula:
5 – 10 group orders: 5% discount
11 - 15 group orders: 8% discount
16 + group orders: 10% discount
Please fill out the form below. We will issue your organization a number that your members can use when ordering. This number will be good for a set period of time (usually two weeks). This method will enable us to track sales from your members during the promotional period and rebate to those that participated the discount earned. Once we figure it up, a check for the discount will be mailed to each participant. Call us if you have any questions. 888.414.2903
Thanks again. I’m most appreciative of your business and trust the product meets with your expectations.
Ride Safe.

So,,, realistically,,, we are looking at a either 5% or 8% discount??? I think mine,,, loaded up with the extra $20 waterproof material and all was $179.95 plus shipping... Well,,, that will save you $9,,, maybe... Not a lot of change...
But,,, I will contact him and make sure that if we order these between a such and such Date we will get the discount... I mean,,, if it can save you $9 and you will get it credited to you,,, and you don't have to wait to put together a big order just add a comment that this is the "Austin City Limits" Group order or what ever name so he knows we are all together and,,, you get your bag now,,, not after 30 days of trying to get 15 people to pay,,, and order??? $9 would be ok in my book...

Makes sense...
I guess the next step is to set up some sort of poll to guage interest, either way, I'll order one after a group name is established so that it'll count.

Thanks for looking into it.

I seem,,, to be swamped Farming right now and have done 0/nadda/ziltch on getting Luggage Locker called... Sorry... :( And,,, right now,,, I am looking at getting REALLY,,, busy for about 1 more month too...
Honestly,,, with all the stuff this crew is buying the Farkle funds around here I am guessing will be depleated and the chance of 8 - 15 buying a tank bag appear slim... Not none,,, just slim...
With only saving $9 on the discount of buying a Luggage Locker,,, it might not be worth the waiting for you to order... At least,,, that is IMHO...

I just bought the Joe Rocket Manta bag. It is a great back for carrying smaller stuff.

These guys import good quality soft luggage. I know them from the FZ1 owners site, and met them at the bike show in NYC. The're a couple of young guys who started a little buisiness and are giving it a go full time. Nice quality/price ratio.
