Just got my kit from Ca. Sport Touring and have read the instructions and it says to put the limit relays inside the suspension boots which I understand and then it says to secure the suspensions to the adjuster motor bracket but I do not see anything to attach it to.
Can someone who has done this project tell me how they secured the relay suspensions to the adjuster motor bracket.
Also, if I already have the quartet harnes installed and it accessible by just taking the windshield off, the black upper fairing under the windshield and the instrument cluster, do I need to take the middle cowl off for anything?
Thanks.

They show the relationship of the relays to the adj ***. There are small tabs that the relay suspensions slip onto.

You are the one in charge there:-)

Tony,
I recently exchanged these notes with Moe who also planned to do the windshield up grade.
The instructions provided with the kit are OK, but I added a few things to reduce confusion.
?
Have fun take your time and try to keep track of all the screws and plastic retainers!

Moe,
Sorry about the confusion.
I use a MAC and when making a word document the Mac creates three files two are invisible to us, they are a data fork and a
resource fork.
These tell the MAC how to display the information and are of no value to a PC but appear causing confusion.
Hopefully you were able to open the 12 page information/data file therefore have all the information.
Thanks,
Russ

I can download & open the larger of the (2) files, Marks' instructions, cannot open the smaller of the (2) files. Can you Fax this one?

Moe,
When I ordered the kit it seemed $600.00 was an expensive addition, even though the ST is my best toy.
But now that I've had it for awhile, it has become very handy and adds much comfort to freeway and high speed riding. Also last week I rode near Flagstaff, Az in 30 deg weather
and it worked liked a champ.
I did the install in two steps of about four hours each. It can be done faster but while all the plastic was off I took time to clean all the newly exposed area.
My instructions are mostly taken from the original, the difference is a few drawings which clarify the wiring.
They are in word format, hope you find them to be helpful!

I'm an ST1300 rider here in SC and about ready to buy Marks' motorized windshield kit. Saw your reply in MSN Groups and sure would like to have copy of your thoughts and experiences with the install. Looks like a complicated project.

The reason for needing to remove (or at least loosen) the left middle cowl is so that you can remove the headlight assembly to give you the access space you need to get that big ol motor in place. If you already have the quartet harness installed, I think you could just loosen the middle cowls, removing only the screws near the mirror housings and just loosening the rest, with no need to actually remove them. That should give you enough play in them to get the headlight assembly out of place.
As far as attaching the relays w/suspensions to the motor assembly, I just used some wire ties to do that.

Thanks for ther input, I did not know we had the tabs on our 03 standard ST's for the relays to hang on.
Thanks again.
