Does anyone have any good tips on how to effectively remove wax from textured plastics? The previous owner of my bike was a bit careless in applying wax, and I'll be darned if I can get it off. I hate the look of white wax residue on black plastic. Thanks in advance for any tips! :)

I haven't tried it but someone at WeSTOC told me liquid dishwashing detergent and a toothbrush does wonders...

Well I am a little on the sloppy side my self when it comes to cleaning the bike. Armoral on the black plastice will clean it up nice.

I use Armoral when I get wax on black plastic. It is too easy!

I use nothing but 303 Aerospace Protectant. Doesn't leave a greasy and oily feel and doesn't attract dust and dirt like Amourall does. It also acts like a sunscreen, protecting the plastic, rubber, etc from the drying, fading effects of UV damage. Amoural actually dries out and cracks vinyl and plastics, being petroleum based.

Try using blue painters tape on the edge of the black plastic and the paint. After waxing just peel it off with no residue.

Well, I had some time this weekend to get my new baby all cleaned up. A soft bristled tooth brush with warm soapy water works well - takes time but it does the job. I also tried another suggestion - warm peanut butter with a toothbrush. Supposedly the penaut oil breaks down the wax - this works also.

Then I went over all the plastic with Mother's Back to Black (http://www.autogeek.net/motbactrimca.html). This stuff is amazing! Highly recommend it for bringing the color back to all plastic.

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions! :)

Wax? What's that? You're supposed to be riding your bike, not wasting time waxing! Get the beaST out of the driveway and on the road. :D
