I got my '03 ABS back from recall service this afternoon:

Ground part replaced but no evidence of damage/failure/wear on the old part.
Wire not damaged, rerouted as prescribed.
Brake PCV fine, no leakage.
Just wondering if anyone has had the recalls performed and been told there was a problem. The service manager said they've found no problems in any of the ST's they've seen.

Mine never had symptoms nor showed any evidence of problems identified in the recalls. Anyone have a different experience?

My 04 had all of the recalls done and no problems. The guy who did mine told me he had to replace 2 wiring harnesses so far and it was a tough job.

Just like yours Bones - no problems.
The brakes felt better afterwards though.

My local Dealer claims he can't get the parts for the recal work. Claims they are back ordered with Honda. Anyone hearing this?

I had the same experience with the parts ,, took about three weeks to get them in. Stealership was great though did not have me bring it in untill they had the parts. They changed one connector on my harness but everything else was good. I called honda about the delay with the parts to make sure my dealer was not giving me a run around, honda rep was helpful on the phone said that some dealers were ordering more than they needed? He said that the parts were on backorder and would be in stock soon,, that was like three weeks ago.

Good luck hope they get them in soon.

The back order should be over, unless the parts are back ordered again. I just got my bike back about 2 weeks ago, after a month long back order. I spoke to Honda while my bike was taken prisoner, and they did confirm that the parts were back ordered during the time my bike was stuck at the shop. But, like I said, the back order was over about 2 weeks ago. You may want to call Honda and check up on the parts and also let the dealer know that the back order is now over (just in case they need to re-order the parts). I'm convinced that some dealers just don't check up on these things very often, while others really don't know how to handle supplying themselves with recall parts. And, if you're lucky, you take your bike to a shop that keeps on top of things and really cares about taking care of its customers!

Took about a week and a half at dealer, but no problems. Replaced the ground connector cap and installed new funnel retainers. Brakes OK.

I had no problems other than a minor delay (3 business days) getting parts, attributable to the fact that I bought my bike at a different dealer than I chose for the warranty work - parts had to be ordered & were BO'd temporarily.

What impressed me was the Service Manager knew all about the recalls & without any prompting or looking them up gave me the details of each. Inglis Cycle, (London Ontario), sells and services probably 1/2 a doz different brands plus ATVs (& not very many STs), so Steve Brown is definitely on the stick! :)
