They look good. I really like the front. Maybe put Casey, IL or Moonshine,IL at the bottom of the front logo?
I definitely want some!

I think I like it but,,,

What would you think about having Flames instead of the squiggly lines???

Compare last year to this years... Not as wild of flames as last year but,,, just some flames???

This is everyones opinion,,, not mine so,,, I really do want to hear from ya... :bigpop:

only 'cuz you asked!!!!

I like the flames
I like graphics and logos better than pictures
For the front... Too much info???... The website has the saying (the challenge)... How about the shirt stating the answer... "I am a rider" under "Moonshine 2008"

I will wear whatever you offer with pride!!!

edit... I meant to write "I am a Motorcycle Rider"

What Steve said, graphics over photo. Mentioning Illinois would be good too. Flames vs pinstripe?? either way is good. You can put me down for two.2xl

I'll need two Large long sleeve. Not too concerned about the graphics, it'll look good. I'm wearing 2007 _now!_

Forget the flames, theres no rain or sleet or snow in the picture. I don't remember any sunshine at Moonshine. Come on, show what really happens at Moonshine.:snow1:

The weather will be fabulous! Why, because we are going. :D

I'd say graphics over images. The flames or pin stripes? Either work sometimes less is better.

The only thing I see off in the front image is ... there is sunshine !!!!

Hey Dave,, you're right. That is not an accurate portrayal! Where's the sleet and rain?

I like the pinstripes as much as I liked the flames... It's a wash for me either way.

Gotta say I'm not crazy about the picture on the back. I prefer a logo / something drawn to a real pic... I don't know the folks in the photo, so it doesn't make sense to wear their pic.

Just my $.02. Whatever you make, I'll buy.

They look great, how about using a picture from the previous year on the back !

Austin city limits
02-24-2008, 07:19 PM
The picture I chose was that it DIDN"T have,,, anyone posed in front... Unless you see yourself,,, you wouldn't know anyone,,, and that again,,, made me like this picture... Moonshine is not about a person,,, or a few people who come,,, it is the mass who come...

This is just a natural moment caught at Moonshine... The guy who has his back turned with the Moonshine Shirt on is Blue Moon from the MTF site... Without Blue Moon coming up from Kentucky 5 years ago,,, I never would have went ahead and started the Moonshine Run...

They look great, how about using a picture from the previous year on the back !

I looked through around,,, 275 pictures from last year from about 37 different people from the MLR last year... THE,,, BESTEST,,, picture of them all,,, is the Montage" that we are using on the header at the www.moonshine-run.com But,,, that is like 4 pictures Melded together... The one picture of the store straight on last year had a Mini Van setting in front,,, and the picture was aimed low and only got the porch... Also,,, you can't read the "Welcome to Moonshine Population 2"

This picture IS,,, from last year,,, but in June... ;) I knew I didn't have a great picture from the wet weather in April,,, and had a "Small" get together in June... We had about 200 people show up,,, along with other groups and,,, after that day,,, I know why we will have it in April... If we held this in June??? 5,000 people would show up!!! But,,, they only would come once because it was hot/wet/raining/couldn't get inside/to many people... I want this to be a challenge to get to... I might be able to roll out of bed and attend,,, but I want others to earn the right to acclaim,,, I was at Moonshine,,, where were you???

George

If you want Moonshine this year to look like the pic, invite Don "Moose" Parrish and ask him to bring his magic umbrella. Worked well for TWISTAR. :D

If Mixon and I show up this year, I would be willing to bet we have great weather. Even though Chris is blamed for bad weather whereever he goes, when we both have showed at an event, the weather has been great. So, you can have a sunny scene on the 2008 MLR shirts.

ACL, Looks good to me. I do agree that it needs to say "Illinois" somewhere.

While proudly wearing my shirt from last year I had a guy tell me he knew all about that "moonshine run" He said "that is in Tennesee isn't it?".

Front: too busy, squigglies distracting and don't mean anything, font distracting, prefer another saying

Back: still don't like the font, prefer to replace squigglies

I am from the less is more school of design...

Possible to have multiple designs to choose from/vote on

Applaud your great efforts on this event...wish I was going to
be there......

This was a great response to me and it got me started in a long winded (((Imagine That))) response that would help update everyone... So,,, I Copied and Glued it here too... :D

I like the shirts. Could you sneak out to moonshine and just snap a shot in the afternoon when no one is there? I think that would be cool on the shirt, just the store and nobody in it.

Also....the last couple of years you have made the shirt on your own and I have loved both of them and still wear them all the time, so do what you like and people will buy and wear them! My opinion!

That is maybe what I should have done... :o:

I "THOUGHT" I wanted bikes lined up or scattered around the store... We had nothing good from the April date as no one was really taking shots in the snow storm... :crackup

The June get together was to get the "Perfect" picture and,,, we really only had 3 worth even considering... We took about 100 shots too... They all looked staged... People posing... I hate,,, posers... ;) So,,, I thought this picture was the best on these reasons...

# 1 ~~~ It was not posed at all...

# 2 ~~~ No one is really able to tell anyone who is in the pictures...

# 3 ~~~ We have bikes in front of the store... Not Pickups and Mini Vans...

# 4 ~~~ The picture is bright,,, as in sunshine... It might snow at Moonshine and all but,,, trying to get a screen print of a dark dreary day does NOT turn out well we found out... (((Yes,,, we have been trying for over 2 months getting a Last years picture to look right,,, and not washed out and too dark)))

# 5 ~~~ This is a color picture... We need color IN,,, the picture!!! The April shots looked more Black and White... Even,,, more like Black and Grey... :crackup

Here is a picture that I LOVE of Moonshine last year!!! But,,, try and see how dark,,, grey/gray/really grey everything looked and how dark it would be on a ash grey T-Shirt...

http://moonshine-run.com/Moonshine/images/banner.jpg

Also,,, it has a Mini Van and the picture is split as it has 2 pictures put together on the porch you can tell...

# 6 ~~~ This is just a snap shot from a wacky angle of the store,,, but gets the whole store in it Top to Bottom... Moonshine is a wacky idea,,, this is a wacky angled picture...

DING DING DING DING!!! Winner!!!

To change the picture now,,, would cost extra $$$... We will be open to any and all suggestions for next years picture/shirt... But for keeping the shirts as cheap as we can we need to go with this picture... This is from the artist himself in Arizona just told me... He really gives us a HUGE break on the $$$ art work to create the picture,,, and the Color Thingy's they use to create the shirts at the shirt place...

We are going to add ((( I hope))) Illinois to the shirt... We are changing the squiggly lines to very subdued flames (((I hope as I have not seen the work as he is still working on it)))

I really want this to be EVERYONES,,, shirt!!! Next year,,, I will open up a thread and will bounce stuff months before what you want... That way,,, we can design it and keep the changes and cost as low as we can...

Yes,,, I was correct 5 years ago when I said I didn't want to do T-Shirts as they are a pain... But,,, everyone seems to want 1,,, and the money goes to some great causes so,,, T-Shirts we will have... :D

Terry, you should know by now, whenever you give choices it becomes a problem, like what color bike etc. Henry Ford said it best, "You can have whatever color you want as long as its black" I'm sure whatever the shirt is people will buy it. :biker:

Personally, I like the pin stripes better! (flames are sooo overdone) But whatever you come up with, I'll take one!

I run into this situation with my screen-printing buddy..... You learn to make 1 or 2 designs, then run with it. Otherwise you will spend all your time "taking suggestions" and making revisions.

Unfortunately it is such a logistical nightmare to offer these types of shirts in different colors. The printing process may have to be changed depending on shirt color(s).

Then there is size/type/short sleeve/long sleeve/hoody/crew......on and on!!

I am a big fan of Henry Ford's "whatever color"!!! And I don't care what color the shirts are as long as I can get one in large. It doesn't even have to be long sleeved, but it would be nice.

I KNOW,,, asking opinions is like asking to get kicked in the head... But,,, I REALLY do think of the MLR as "EVERYONES" MLR... I would have never thought about putting Illinois on the shirt but,,, makes 109% sense to!!!

I am not wild about the Flames,,, and I wanted them way less,,, far more Subdued than they were... But,,, we will correct it next year... ;)

Why change the shirts year to year I get asked a lot... If we sold 600 last year,,, and no one asked for a color picture why am I screwing up a good thing???

91% of the riders who were here last year,,, will be here this year... If we have the same basic shirts as last year,,, I know I might not buy another shirt... This is the primary Money maker for the Children Mission Fund,,, the Local Food Pantry,,, and Crisis Center... I will not charge for ANYTHING at the MLR!!! Never have,,, never will I hope... But,,, it is almost the same amount of pain to sell 200 shirts,,, as it is 500 shirts...

Last year I think,,, I bought 668 shirts... Why,,, 668??? I looked in my checking account,,, and decided I had JUST,,, enough money,,, to buy 668 shirts... 675 shirts,,, and the check would have bounced!!! :crackup I was not worried I would not get my money back,,, and this is my way of helping others get something they really want,,, and groups earn some much needed money...

The shirts,,, are a 121% pain... I spend more time on T-Shirts than I do anything else with Moonshine... I have many who volunteer to sell,,, T-Shirts and give up there time selling them...

So,,, if it is this much of a pain,,, and people are helping me,,, I want it to be a worth while deal,,, and the people involved will get a warm fuzzy feeling knowing they helped raise well over $3000 to the Mission/Food Pantry/Crisis center...

Each year,,, I hope you can look back and see each year,,, the shirts are looking better and better,,, and a reason to want another shirt... I know,,, the Long Distant Riders have now adopted the MLR shirt as this Wacky ride only insane riders go too... I feel,,, so at home knowing this... :D

I have a few that want Black... My guess is,,, about 15%... Black is Hot... V E R Y,,, Hot...

Some want White,,, about 10%... People didn't really want the Maroon from last year but after they saw it,,, liked it... It is easy to spot a Moonie from 100 yards ya see... ;)

The Ash Gray??? It is a light color so,,, cooler to wear... It ain't white so,,, stays clean better and,,, doesn't become a rag as quick...
