Leave El Paso at 8:00am from Shell station at I-10 and Trans Mountain.
Also leaving Mesilla at 9:00am from The Bean.

How was the ride? Is the water level still down? A few years back we ate at the Dam Restaurant, pretty good food as I recall. Is it still there?

The water level is very low. The goats that lived on the island all walked away when the island connected to the surrounding desert. The Damn Site Marina is still there. The food is still great. They rebuilt the patio overlooking the lake. The ride turned out to be the calm before the storm, winds of 40 mph the next day.

Typical southwest spring times. Were you there when the "Virgin" hot air balloon was going through? Fighting the winds, etc. We positioned ourselves along Mesa (west side) to view. The pilots made it, thank God. Exciting to watch, though I'm sure the pilots stained their shorts.
