Do the mirror deflectors and Dick Seng light brackets work OK together?

The mirror & fairing deflectors just arrived today. Driving lights are the next major item on my farkel shopping list. Should I wait until I get the lights installed before putting on the deflectors, or does it matter?

Thanks

They work just fine. I've got both on my '05 with the PIAA 910's. My deflectors were on before the lights. No problem.

Dick doesn't really have a product website but try this link:

http://koczarski.com/ST1300/Farkles.htm

At the botton is a 'Dick Seng' hyperlink. It will give you his email address. He really great a responding to emails.

I'm a very satisfied customer.

Well I've got all my "farkles" :tools1: on...Cee-Bailey Windshield 6 wider/stock height, CalSci under mirror deflectors, Stealth Back Rest...All of those things were put on to help wife be more comfy..The under mirror deflectors took a lot of fiddling...had to be shaped properly and rough edges cleaned up...they weren't expensive but very crude..Still happy with stock seat..front in second up...back of front seat all the way down..no sliding forward..work good..still have stock bars..without back draft wrists okay...Loving this bike.. :D

Dave,

I'm shopping for a new bike. My wife and I test drove an ST1300 this morning. We are trying to get passenger airflow and buffeting "good enough" compared to the Yamaha Venture we have now. Airflow for me was fine, but too much for her. Most of it seemed to come from under the mirrors. Do the CalSci under mirror deflectors solve the airflow issues for you? Thanks in advance.

The OEM mirror and fairing extenders do quiet the pillion air quite a bit at the expense of cooling airflow on the rider. I don't think I'm going to instal them on the '05. (had them on the '03)

The CeeBailey stock height plus 6" wider and the mirror deflectors will do wonders for the buffeting she feels.

So far with the OEM extenders on I find that putting the windsheild all the way down gives me enough summer air.

Dave, you can also upgrade the headlamps, H4 ST's 55/65 watt, real improvement from what I hear, have a set of those and the required shims on the way in addition to a set of 910's (which are to bright to leave on w/ the low beams). The factory set up is so bad, I have yet to ride this bike at night... too many moose here.

Wanted to give some feed-back from wife with Cee Bailey 6 in wider, stock height..CalSci deflectors...A big improvement..removed buffetting..we rode on a very windy day so she still got some wind...She felt that the distance between us was giving the wind a chance to get at her..more than the Cruisers we have had where she sat tight to me....But the rattling buffetting is pretty well gone...As a side note I have raised the fronts of both seat halves relative to the backs of both to get away from the sliding forward..What an improvement...stock seat is fine for us..we rode 6 hrs yesterday..no problems....Now about the lights..brights okay dim was "..stupid scary" bad...I'm adjusting the light up to see if I can get the dim to work better..May cause bright to blind little birdies...Where are you getting the brighter bulbs??? Do you have to remove all the tupperware to change??? We have a real danger issue with deer and the odd moose.. As another aside...Rode with a group...New Goldwing (don't tell Mellow, but those things can move) two Electra-Glides..New C-90 Suziki (lot of bike for money) and an amazing 86 Wing and side-hack..160 ks. We caught up to a HOG chapter..Got some attitude from a couple of souped up versions..blew them off with wife on back..she loved it it was our 35th Anniversary here she is howling about how we embarassed the big bad harleys... At 120 mph :22yikes: this things was dead straight stable..what an amazing bike...and through the curves wow.... :D

Dave, due to the critter issue (lots of moose, deer, and bear) I'm hanging a set of PIAA 910's under my mirrors... like having 6 high beams! www.electricalconnection.com is one of many to get the higher powered bulbs and shims... althou there seems to be some speculation if they are needed. Search around this site, lots'o chatter on this subject.
