Hi again.

I really like the Idea of the Fenda Extenda and what it accomplishes.

What i don't like is drilling holes in the factory fender.

I have read some mention of using a sealer to attach it.

Any input would be appreciated.

TIA.

I stuck mine on with some JB weld. Seems to be holding just fine. Make sure to get the inside of the fender really clean. I used a little sand paper as well, just to provide and little extra grip. I notice that the FE must lightly contact the lower center faring at full suspension jounce though as mine now has some tell-tale minor marks on it.

I have a couple of these in my eBay 'Watch' list but hesitated to get one not wanting to put screws in my fender. Looks like I'll have to click the 'Buy Now' link after all. Great tip guys - thanks. :)

I think you can get these cheaper from Kim at CST that what I've seen on e-bay.

Actually, it's a 79' XS750F. And it was a great bike, especially when pulling a cargo trailer. I bought it new and retired it when my wife bought the 2003 :03biker: , a 50th birthday and retirement gift . The middle gear case on the XS seized up ( insufficient oil ), locking the rear wheel up at 60 mph while we were riding home from swimming ( only shorts and tee shirts on). I am thankful my wife didn't panick while I fought to keep the bike upright till it came to stop, leaving a 150 ft skid mark on the pavement.

P.S I did have an 1982 XS1100 but sold it as it wasn't sporty enough for me.

You were hoping the gravel rash would keep you warm in the winter?

If you can remove the fender first, it will allow you to do a much cleaner installation, when you glue it on.

CA Sport Touring is aweome - got the fenda extenda quickly and inexpensively. The mounting suggestion using ABS cement works very well - 500 miles and rock solid. Love not having screws in the fender. Thanks!
