I have the Service Manual on order, but doing the 600 mile service now. Can anyone tell me what the torque value is for the Steering Bearings?
TIA,
Dorian

Dorian: I just got through doing mine with the tool which I got at cost for $43. I think the regular cost is over $100 at Honda store. I tried to find a 4 prong wrench to substitute that is used for four wheel drive vehicles but nothing fit. So Honda got my dollars and it paid for itself with the first service. I torqued the bearing nut to 29 pds and hand tightened over lock washer the nut by hand plus, to align flanges. As others have said, the nut on top of the handlebar mounting plate is 76 pds. Other nuts are around forks are 20 pds and the bar mounts are 16 pds. A guy suggested that you keep handlebars up and out of way and right side up to avoid air in hydraulic lines. I bungeed to upper dash with rags to keep from messing up the plastic on dash and this kept them up, out of the way, an upright. Just put a good cloth on tank if you are not removing it to keep it nice and neat, unscratched and undented. It is a realitive easy job of about 2 hrs max. The Rev.:)
