Is this the right product to install in order to get the signals to auto cancel ?

Kisan Signal Minder SM-3

Or did I miss something and the ST has self cancelling signals ?

Gee , My 85 V65 Sabre had them, along with shaft drive, 120hp, 9500 redline, watercooled, 6 SPEED ! , Clock and a DANG GEAR Indicator. Where are these on the ST ?

I almost bought the 1200GT for the above reason, it's got all of it for about 5-6K more money :( , but I liked the ST , sides the Bimmer rode like a sport bike.

It works. Not the best $100 spent on my bike, but also probably not the worst. I'd give it no more than a "5". (scale of 1 to 10)

I agree, I have it on mine and I am really thinking about taking it off.

Couple reasons actually.

One -- the signal sometimes turns off too soon when I am headed to an intersection. True, I added the extra wire that makes the brake light hold the signal but it sometimes just does not work out right.

Two -- when you forget to push the button the marker light up front turns out.

Three -- being that you must push the button you can put yourself in an odd situation when trying to signal a turn because the button must be pushed and then moved to the desired position. I have had this happen enough times that I am now very careful to push the signal button in after a turn.

All these kinda make the signal minder a pain in the butt.

I keep looking at the old relay, I just know I will be putting it back in...

Don and Rob, thanks for the info. I was getting ready to get the cancelling device myself but didn't realize that it killed the marker light until depressed the turn signal button. Doesn't make sense that they didn't put a logic circuit in place that reset the whole light.

Oh well. I've been spoiled by the GL1800 signal cancelling, but what I've found since occasionally riding the ST is that I'm aways hitting the button on the GL to stop the turn signal. Its an easier habit to learn than unlearn.

You can wire the system up to not kill the light, it makes all of the turn signals marker lights.
