£130 is the cost of the r/h wing mirror cover and tip over wing cover as paid for by the person who, while reversing into a space, and taking care to avoid hitting the car behind her, knocked my Pan over. I arrived back on the scene to find a group of four people (driver, passenger and 2 council workers who righted the bike) milling around. To her credit, at least she didn't do a runner, and paid very quickly. I offered to settle without involving her insurance as it would have been near to or less than the excess of her insurance policy.
However I happen to know that she has informed her insurance company, as her insurance company wrote with an offer to take my vehicle away to their car repair shop (I was tempted...) and give me a courtesy vehicle. I declined their kind offer. I'm not sure how these things work, but I know she already has had a claim through her policy this year, so they might take this into account and wipe out her no claims discount. i suppose it depends on how kind her insurers are.
It was probably fate, as at around the very moment that the Pan went down, Mrs Gerbil passed her bike test! :bow1:
I can't imagine why the lady didn't pay you and not involve her insurance... That is going to cost her money for years... (well it would over here).
You might want to hold onto the broken parts and put them on when Mrs Gerbil rides yours for the 1st time... I'm sure she would appreciate the show of confidence and support!

Mrs Gerbil is welcome to break as many parts on the bike as she wants, it shouldn't just be left to me to cause all the carnage! However for the next 2 years she has a 33hp restriction on her license. Oh, and then we need to find a way to graft on 4" on to at least one of her legs! :D
I am thinking of putting the old wing mirror housing on Ebay. A sand and a respray and it will be as good as new. Surely someone will buy it...
4" graph... those get expensive! Maybe only get the graph on the leg that has to touch the ground... then you'd save have the cost...
Sand and respray?
If it isn't broken.... don't fix it! :)
I bought a new mirror cover for my '01 because I knew I wouldn't be able to match the '01 color (U.S. only gets one color per year).

I hear that Mother Honda, after 2010, will be offering only zero colors per year. A new record!

I checked my Tip Over Rule Book and it says the TO has to be done by you and not someone else... Oh hell! I just dropped the rule book! Here's your TOA!

Jeez, Fred. Don't you have standards or something to uphold?? You're passing out those valuable awards like they were water.

Due to a direct rash of tip overs recently... comes in bunches I see. The rules of the TOA Award do need to be defined. Until then I reserve judgment of my own volition. ...so there it is! ;) :D

Besides, it's the perfect lighter for my long standing 0 pack a day non-smoking habbit. :D
Some good might yet come from this situation. I've got a bit of a gouge on one of my panniers that I'm wanting to fill in, so once I've got the touch-up kit ordered, I've got a pre-scratched, body coloured bit of plastic that I can experment on. And if I do the job right, I can sell the mirror housing on Ebay.
