No cleaveage that I can see? No camel-toe evident?
What the hell does that pic have to do with an ST1300?
Inquiring minds want to know...

I bet its a luggage rack to attach to a rack that Turbo Tom made. You need a bigger platform and this aluminum plate will attach to the Turbo Tom rack. Plenty of spots to tie down. And then you can remove this plate when not needing it.

How did I do?

@ 22" wide, that's one big license plate! :hyp1:

:hat1:

It's for the dry duffle bag. It was designed and made by a member here and after I get the holes drilled for the clamps, I'll get it pc'd. The slots are for the Rok Straps and the whole rack extension is 10" x 22". It will add a lot of support to the TT sport touring rack I have. :)

Dang I am good. Ok, Ok...so maybe I know who made it and was at his house making some items for my bike and he mentioned he needed to make a luggage rack/plate for another member.;)

PS...Sure wish I had got in on that group buy on those bags.

O.K. Looks great for a tail pack versus having to use my top box.
Are you going to produce it for us underlings who also have Tom's rack ?
Gotta love the versitility of RoK Straps.
Come on you can do it !!!!

Sad news:

I didn't make it, someone else did whom I will leave anonymous.

It is doubtful that anyone would want it if they knew the cost of materials and labor (not including the powder coating which will cost an additional $40) since it is a custom job.

Well hopefully Mr. Or Mrs. Anonymous will read my post and want to make one more :D
Thanks for posting your pictures it offers the rest of us some idea's for strapping our packs on the back end.

This appearing like a horizontal guillotine. Hopes you don't have a get off. :(

Realistically, there are several points on the bike that can cause fatal injury in a get-off (e.g. bar ends, foot pegs, edge of windscreen, etc). It's highly doubtful that this will add any significant issue beyond those that are already present.

That doesn't count the endless number of objects that one might impact after leaving the comfort of the saddle such as signs and road dividers.

Had I mounted spikes or razor blades on it, I could see your point. Otherwise, I'm far from the first that has mounted a larger tail rack.

Well hopefully Mr. Or Mrs. Anonymous will read my post and want to make one more :D

I'll let that person make the decision to jump in or not; however, that person let me know that they did not wish to start making runs of these. This person did this because they like to solve problems with a skillset they have. If they started making several of them, it wouldn't be a fun hobbie anymore...it would be work. This is why they requested to stay out of the picture, so to speak.

I don't think that they would mind me taking measurements off of the plate and posting them so others could either fabricate it for themselves or pay a local fabricator to make it for them. I will ask.

Note that this plate just extends Tom's sport tail rack which means you would have to have a tail rack to attach it too, or fabricate a way to attach it to the tail of the ST.

Breaking news.....

It was taken to Top Koat (http://www.topkoat.net/) this afternoon and will be ready tomorrow afternoon with a dual-coat of gloss black powder applied.

I had to mod the bar bracket that was sent with it as it didn't fit between the rear mounts of the tail rack. After some trimming and machining by a friend here, it was good to go. There were also some smaller mounts provided to add additional support; however, they were not cooperating and didn't seem to fit around the tail rack so I made the exectutive decision to not use them. The main bar mount is some serious aircraft aluminum restrained with two massive button top SS bolts. They had to be cut down to size but with that bar mount, I don't think the plate is going anywhere.

Pictures to follow.

On a side note, prices are pretty good at this shop....they may end up with Midnights rims and bars in the future. :D

hey, this also looks like an accessory that has multiple functional uses...
for one, suppose a rider just happens to be forced into being the executioner of a squirrel, through no intent of malice,...then, instead of just leaving the carcass
twitching in the street,...the spectators to the incident can be educated to how resourceful and "green"-minded the rider is by a demonstration of just how easily
field dressing on that tail-rack-plate can be...shouldn't take more than about 5 minutes!...then donate the cleaned squirrel to a hungry student, or take it home for bbq!...could also be used for cleaning limit of crappie during the spring spawning run...great farkle!...multitude of uses...please note: only an attempt at humor & not in any manner meant to be "poking" fun...after all...many of us have ridden enough to know the feeling accompanying a "thump-thump"...stupid little furry lap dog...how was i to know it would try to race across the highway back toward the tavern it had just run out of?...:(

What you can't see in the photo's is the heating elements on the bottom. When turned on, and with a little Crisco, you can cook 'em right up where ever you're at!

Pictures!!!

Thanks to the person that built this for me! Had to modify the bottom mounting plate as it didn't fit between the supports on the back of the rack. After getting it machined down a tad and corners rounded off, had both pieces pc'd. Added some rubber washers between the bolts and nuts to keep it from scratching the surface. I purchased some inexpensive clear nylon tube, .5" ID and .75" OD, and cut 1" sections off, slit them, and put them over sections of Tom's tail rack. This keeps the plate and rack from scratching each other and also forms a 'sticky' surface assuring that it won't slide around.

Looks good, doesn't block my mirrors, and should work out perfectly. This really adds a ton of functionality to Tom's sport tail rack!!!!
