I've browsed about 98 pages of Moonshine posts - anyone keeping track of how many of us are planning on camping and where? KOA or Fox Ridge/Lincoln Trail SP's seem interesting. I'll be camping, probably Thursday-Saturday nights. Not sure where!

I'm camping or poaching, whichever presents the best opportunity.

The Lincoln Trail SP sounds about right to me.

See a bunch of youse guys there next week.

I will be at the KOA. GRN is looking for someone to share a site with if he can get out of NH. I'm already partnered up with E the B.

Sounds like a plan to me :). I'll probably swing by Lincoln trail to see if I can poach; if I can't find anyone to share a site it'll be on to the KOA.

UUUuuuMMMmmm,,, I just had a thought!!!

:::::alert the media to this yearly event:::::

The Farm house about 12 miles from Casey has no one in it,,, and has about,,, 4 beds,,, H U G E,,, sofa,,, bathroom/shower,,, kitchen... Even has plenty of yard for those REALLY wanting to camp,,, but a bathroom/shower to show you have a shade of "Nancy Boy" in ya... :D Blacktop road to the farm,,, outdoor lights making it easier to camp,,, but could camp anywhere on the 600 acre farm if you wanted real quiet...

Price to stay??? Free...

Camping price??? Free...

I have better pictures somewhere but this shows the house at least... 150 year old home,,, and in fairly good shape...

I'm with Tom on this one. However, whatever I would have paid at the KOA I'll donate to the Mission.

ACL donates camping and lodging to hapless motorcycle travelers. Lighthouse Mission in Terre Haute reports significant decrease in homeless seeking shelter. Those who may be low on gas are out of luck, however; as ACL is usually running on fumes himself.

You going to camp in the yard?

Terry, is there a place to have a fire out in the yard? Firewood?

Wow...not heard the lighthouse mission talked about in a few years. I knew all kinds of people from college at ISU that would go there and buy used furniture for the room from them that people had donated to the mission.

I own it... :D

Might want to keep the directions secret so as not to have a ton showing up out there... Camping spots we have oh,,, say,,, more than we will need... ;)

The only thing is,,, it is WET here,,, and getting wetter so camping needs to be on a slight slope I would think... We have that at the farm,,, but not right beside where you can park your bikes... Bikes can be parked on a Concrete Floor building... That way they are protected,,, and they will not sink in the gravel...

The Road is Blacktop to the farm,,, but the Driveway is Gravel... The road that goes by the farm has about 1 car a night go by... Anything after 8pm,,, and they are up to no good Dad would say... :crackup

Yard is fine; don't need a fire; will need beer (can provide my own) and a place to deposit used beer (tree is fine) :o:.

Bathroom in the house but yeah,,, why waste the effort??? :crackup

Many Building,,, Grain Bins,,, trees to deposit the beverage of your choice... Just don't be driving after ingesting...

I'm leaving Adam Cs in about an hour so should roll into Casey around noon. I'm figuring on coming straight to the house, maybe dry out a little over the charcoal grill. :D

Gonna be a wet and windy ride from the looks of the radar. "Sever Weather Alert" says lots of snow across the plains, moving more north as it heads east. Wet and across the rest of the midwest and south, with temps generally 20° below normal for the weekend.

Perfect camping weather. :D

Thanks Terry for letting us use the ranch! My buddy Brad and I were the only two to actually set up a tent and try to stay sleep outside. We chit chatted with everyone inside till about 11 and then headed to the tent as ACL and Bydawg week back to Casey. Well I have to admit, it was cold rainy, sleeting, and snowing thoughout the night. I made it till about 3 AM when I went to the house to use the restroom and did not make it past the recliner in the living room back out to the tent. Brad however toughed it out and was still sound asleep in his tent when I went out to wake him up at 7:30. Not the best night for experiencing your first camping event. Will give it another shot with some warmer weather!

Just so the gang knows..I've got my good buddy Greg "GRN" from NH tucked in safe and sound here at my house in CT...

Bad news weatherwise up north so he decided to call it quits at my shack and I honered him with a nice big juicy steak, some cold beer and playoff hockey...

How could you go wrong?????

Consider it an open invite for all my ST brother who want the same treatment..Safe travels to all Moonshiners..maybe next year...
