Keith and I talked about this and since we had a good non-dry location and time for NatSTOC and he was searching for just that it seemed like a good idea.

So, TexSTOC will also be this year's National (NatSTOC) event. I have a feeling, this thing is gonna be big!!!!

What? Are you kidding? And lose all our history!

Actually, I figure since I organize the dang thing, I should call it whatever I want.

I'd been thinking of calling it BabeSTOC in the hopes that some more female riders would show. Or perhaps, FreeBeerSTOC thinking that some brewer would donate a few cases. Even CashSTOC and a local bank or chain would pay us to ride into their town.

So far, none of those ideas has stuck so we're keeping TexSTOC. After all, 10 of 13 have been in Texas and the majority of the riders come from there and we will be back in the Hill Country next year anyway...

If it's in Arkansas, again, shouldn't we change the name of it?:nuts1:

I had to rephrase my question before I posted it. I was going to ask Keith if he posted any of the shots he took in front of the sex shop. But I wasn't going to be the first to bring it up.

Photos from the sex shop, you mean the adult superstore we were camped next to, just next door to McDonald's?

I've been saving those for my special coffee table book. :>

Actually, had a hard drive problem and trying to build a new PC. One of these days, I'll get the site updated with some shots. I have plenty...

Booze and porn. No, wait, last year we were next door to an adult superstore. At least that part was taken care of. This year the county is not dry either, so check that one off.

Other than a good map or GPS and whatever farkle stories you have...

Hmmm, sharing a room with a guy and you suggest to bring porn?
Note to self: don't share a room with Keith. :D
Got the map thingy taken care of. Been that that part of the country several times just never had the pleasure to do it on 2 wheels.

So I went online at www.texstoc.com and made a futile attempt at registering. I don't think it went thru. So put me down. I already have the kitchen pass to go, now just to find someone to ride with.:o:

On another note, is there a registration fee or a donation to be made to offset any costs in planning this event?

Just a heads up to anyone planning on staying at the hotel and hasn't made a reservation yet.

I just made my reservation and they only have 10 rooms left for that weekend. It seems there is a V-rod gathering from the 17th to the 20th so rooms are going fast. The guy there stated that they are starting to recieve more calls so make sure and get this done. Sounds like there will be plenty of bikes to drool over that weekend. See ya there.:06biker:

Dang, I forgot about that. No, actually, I've been doing this for 13 years and other than coming to dinner on Saturday night (still undecided so far on where) or buying a shirt, there isn't any cost to attending. Not counting gas of course.

Course, you could always offer to buy me a beer...

Seriously, I'll buy you a beer since you went out of your way to plan this event. You live 15 miles from me and we have to meet in AR for the TexStoc to have a drink.

I'm sure everyone has considered it by now....but parts of Arkansas had it rough from Ike. I would get updates on roadways, given how close the Event is.:D:07biker:

That's a very good point... might want to dial down the aggressive riding just a notch... no telling where some sand, leaves, etc, might be sitting around the corner. Since we tend to ride the less-traveled roads they are the last to get any attention.

There was some damage in NW Arkansas. I know of a few places around Eureka Springs that did experience wind damage - mostly trees blown down. Most of the bad stuff seemed to go west of Eureka (Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, Bentonville etc...). I will try to find out more details and post if I find any.

Remember Hwy 7 north is blocked just south of Pelsor. If you are planning on coming up 7 you will need to divert in Russellville.

I just got back from Oregon and a visit with my kin. I'll be up at TexSToc Thursday evening. My route is about 620 miles. Gettin' an early start so I can arrive before sunset. See you all there. Hitting OK 1 into Mena on the way. SWEET!!

Well, the timing is all wrong for me, I'm travelling a lot, so I've pulled out. I just cancelled my reservation at the Country Mountain Inn, so if there's anyone who can benefit, give 'em a call.

Sounds like the weather is really nice all week....Y'all have fun, maybe I'll be able to do it next year.
