May I have your attention please..........................Thank You

I have volunteered to br the official, part time, semi professional event photographer for the 2008 Moonshine Lunch Run.

What that means is I will wonder about during the event shooting photos of anything of interest. What I am asking of you folks is your cooperation. When I see a group BSing or singing or eating or whatever happens I will shoot a photo and then ask for your names. One thing I have learned by working for a newspaper is that a photo of people without names is boring.

So when I ask your names you can give me your real name or your "stage name" whichever you prefer. After uploading the photos I will add the names or a caption for the photo so the dozen or so riders who could not find moonshine can see all the fun they missed.

If anyone does not want their photo taken just tell me. It won't stop me but at least you tried! Maybe you are in the witness protection program or maybe your spouse thinks you just ran to the store and you are not supposed to be at moonshine. Or possibly you are wanted by the local authorities for prior bad acts.

If anyone has journalism skills and would like to help with posting the ID's and adding captions to the photos please let me know. I can push the button on a camera but that is about all.

Also, I will be bringing my laptop along so if you want to add your photos to the group let me know. I only use a compactflash card reader so keep that in mind.

The photos will be posted on my photobucket pro account that has 5 gigs of space and unlimited bandwidth. I am sure you can purchase the photos there if you want.

I will post a link later and I think biddyman will also post a link on the official moonshine site.

I think you should be sure to take Mixon's picture last, but I'm sure you already realize that.

I should use my infared filter so we can see who the "nancy boys" are with their heated gear.

Huh, What??? WHy is there this sudden sharp pain between my shoulder
blades?

Besides, I am not the one who left Kansas going East to get to TEXAS!

Photos of Coop trying to get thru security at the Lubbock airport are availible on the TSA website. Apparently his piercing was setting off the metal detector.

Darn you guys... After seeing the blue box on Curt's bike, I'm waffling (D'oh!) over whether I should cancel my order for the all-black one and get a blue one instead. Arrrrrgh!

And I do like Curt's stick-on description. I guess it's hard to eat a burger while having to talk about where the bike's been.

Here's a couple of my shots, plus the promised mud bath. Much thanks to Terry for use of the farm house. At least 8 of us spent a night there.

Traveling north from Casey on local farm roads, didn't have time to stop once the sign became legible! Uh-oh. Turned left into the grass (no crash) and surveyed the situation. Bulled her across to the right side while trying to turn. No go as the front was packed up, just slid sideways. Had to unload and pivot her around on the left driver's peg. Got'er back up and bulled thru the grass back to the gravel. Had to remove the front wheel to scrape out the mud, prolly 10 pounds packed into a 5 pound area. Ugh.

You can easily see the path. The second pic shows ReSTored after the mudectomy, as I returned to the scene to pick up the gear. I did the work in an abandon equipment shed about 100 yards behind where this pic was taken. Still wet and windy but at least under cover.

Also, dropped her _again_ trying to turn around out of the shed. Pretty slipper in the wet. Imagine my February pic from this year's calendar (NM forest road) if it had been raining while I was there. :D

Hi Terry, I got as far as Sargent Bluff Iowa, or at least I think thats what it's called.
I want to thank you again for everything, you have know idea how much I appreciated all you did for me. Maybe one day we will be able to sit down and visit when there isn't as much of a demand on your time.

It amazes me that you can get everything done that you do and still have time to visit as much as you do.

You are truly a blessed man to have as many good friends as you do!

It seemed like all I had to do is mention something in passing and either you or Curt or someone was solving or fixing a problem for me.

I will remember my time at the Moonshine run for a long time.

Pete.

No problem, Papa. Just muddy. My Frogg Toggs are a little worse for the wear but they'll clean up. Momma never taught me to stay out'a the puddles. :D

JD, enjoy your time in Italy. I doubt I'll get over there, haven't seen all the STates yet. Good to see you and Jay again.

Everyone, great to see old friends. Let's do it again.

Just so the gang knows..I've got my good buddy Greg "GRN" from NH tucked in safe and sound here at my house in CT...

Bad news weatherwise up north so he decided to call it quits at my shack and I honered him with a nice big juicy steak, some cold beer and playoff hockey...

How could you go wrong?????

Consider it an open invite for all my ST brother who want the same treatment..Safe travels to all Moonshiners..maybe next year...

Home safe.....Below 50 until Hammond, LA and then 54 across the Basin bridge...Low of 38 tonight. Now they blame me for cold snaps...

Had a great time.

Unfortunately, Anyone want to know what an I-Pod looks like when it hits the pavment at 70? I found it after about 1 hour of searching. Wish I hadn't :o:

Jody and I had about 120 miles of snow... Nothing stuck to
the road/ground, but the snow/rain/wind made for some
interesting riding...

Good seeing all the regular attendees and meeting a few folks that I hadn't seen. Man...Kudos to those guys coming from Canada during all of this nasty weather. George, I hope the rest of your trip provides some better weather than what you must've had to deal with heading north out of Casey. I'm sure I'll see some of you guys at NatSToc and perhaps BamaSToc. I might even make WestSToc this year. Oh...I'll be working on my flight plan to Italy. First, I've got to get a passport though. :o: That lets you know how much traveling I do outside of the U.S. :crackup Although, I have been to Mexico and the Bahamas, neither of which were on the bike and both of which were before you had to have the passport.

Ride Safe,

Finally got some pics up 'n running. Haven't figured out how to keep the sequence, tho, without a serial number. Any hints?

Some of mine are unique (the farm) but the rest are pretty standard. Should'a got a pic when I _dropped my burger!_ but was rushed to beat the 5 second rule. :D

Note the pics in the mud are officially _after_ I had left but they seem appropriate in this album:
31442 Everyone already knows the weather was bad. Wet arrival and wet leaving, not bad in between. When I got there, my left glove was _soaked,_ the right one was dry.

31448 Others arriving early got the same thing.

31449 Registration was simple and effective.

31443Lunch on Friday was surprisingly quick. The tenderloin ruined my dinner, tho.

31444 So I just hung out and helped a little with t-shirt sales.

The next three are all at Terry's family farm. Thanks for the opportunity to see and photograph the old homestead, and to stay out'a the rain a couple nights!

So Cool George!!! Thanks for doing this!!! :bow1:

Was that your tent in the yard?!?!?! I thought Landon was the only one even THINKING about sleeping out!!!

Where that tent is at,,, I estimate that there is a 97.8% chance that every molecule of wind would be funneled by this tent site!!! :crackup

George
05-31-2008, 09:27 AM
That might be Landon's tent, tho he slept in the house. :D I think J was the only one to stick it out. I spent two nights in the master bedroom.

Plenty of tent camping on that trip, tho I never turned down a real bed when I had the chance.

I have more pics of the farm, I'll send'em direct to you.

I think that is Macs tent in the yard. Jay did not even think about camping! He is not tough enough to camp. My buddy Brad is the only one I know that spent a whole night in a tent.

The wind almost blew Macs tent away at that location, so he took it down and stayed inside.
