Still figuring out this ST1300. Is the grip size 7/8" or 1"?
TIA,
Dorian

Hi Dorian:
The grip size for the ST is 7/8". I can't decide what to replace the stock grips with though.

Anyone have a JPEG of these BMW grips?

Dorian if you have large hands like me, the Jabco foam grip covers are perfect. Took a little effort to slide them over my hondaline heated grips. They are smooth, add some very welcome cushioning and increase the grip diameter. The heated grips still push out plenty of warmth tho I'm sure I've lost a little efficiency. A most excellent farkle, I would give them 5 smileys.

Sir Silver Streak,
I remember the first time I saw a post about the Jabco grips I thought, "Oh yeah... had them on a mountain bike and loved them!" But I can't figure out shich grips everyone is talking about on these boards. Do you have a part number or website with the exact set?
Thanks,
Dorian

Here you go. They are a little thicker at the outside end than toward the thumbs. I kind of like that feel since I use my index finger for braking and clutching.

Hi Bob.
( I replaced my stock grips with the BMW grips recommended by other members of this board. I really like these grips. )
Thanks Leo. I knew about the BMW grips so today I rode to the local BMW dealer ( about 80 miles :-) ) and imagine, they had a set in their inventory. I just put them on, so tomorrow I'll find out how well they work. I still like the old Grab-On style grips, but the dealers in my area have never heard of them . We used to buy them at Canadian Tire for pete's sake.

OK, guys ... for whatever it's worth, I went with the Kury-Aykns. Heavy on the chrome factor, but you can't see the chrome while riding. A little pricy, but way more comfortable than the stockers. :)
I know I'll prolly hear from the "chrome-don't-get-you-home" contingency, and so be it. I like the Ergo Grips, they work for me, and I still recommend them. To each his own ....

OK, I guess I'm odd - I like the stock grips. My bike had some kind of slip on grips over the stock grips. They felt a bit big, but I tried to deal give them a fair shake.
This weekend while doing a wash, I decided to tear them off. On my first ride, I was pleasantly surprised to discover I prefer the smaller diameter grips, and it's nice to feel the front end a bit more.

Thanks for the pics.
Is anyone using BMW grips with a Throttlemiser lock? It looks challanging to work the lock over the thick end of the grips...

I've got BMW grips with a Throttlemeister. I just kind of roll on the 'Meister with my outside palm & fingers, while holding the throttle in position. It's not particularly easy skill to learn, but it's doable. I don't think my issues have anything to do the the BMW grips though. MoST of the time I adjust the 'meister just snug enough to hold the throttle position, but loose enough I can manually adjust the speed if so desired.

Great Bills think alike. I did the the same as you and added the throttle rocker type end piece. If someone give you a hard time about the chrome, tell them to "get a grip"

No luck finding the Jabco's. If my Jabco's wear out, I guess i'll replace them with the Grip Puppies sold at Calsport (see link).

I put on the BMW grips and found them only marginally larger and marginally more comfortable than the stock grips. Any other suggestions?
