I had never heard of an Aussie meat pie until ironically, my first trip to Australia! I was pleasantly surprised to see them at the museum cafe when I stumbled upon it on my map while exploring the hill country. Yum! :bow1:

I may try to join in if you don't mind. I didn't know this place existed.

I'm coming from Buda though. If you get more details on your leave time from the AFB let us know.

The planned departure time from Lackland AFB (Medina Annex) is approximately 12pm

Everyone on two (or three) wheels is welcome to join us. Details on the exact departure location near Lackland AFB will be finalized this week.

Geez that looks like a good getaway ride, but I'm getting new rubber on the wheels this weekend... And I could get to Medina with my eyes closed (stationed at Kelly 7 years at Security Hill)...

Geez! You guys are going all the way over there and not riding the Three Twisted Sisters? The Aussie Meat Pies are good, but I couldn't get that close to the Sisters without paying them a visit.

I think I've read, at least in recent ride reports, that 337 is undergoing construction. Might want to check that out.

There was some construction a few months ago on 337 when I first found the museum....can't find anything online at the moment. There was some patches of gravel but I managed on my superhawk for a few miles...

Found it....there is some construction on the TXDot website on 337... about 7 miles worth if I read it right...

Well, we had three riders. The roads were clear (except for a little construction here and there), traffic was light, and the Aussie meat pies were hot out of the oven!!

Thanks Chris for putting the ride together. There is nothing better than riding the roads that have a 50 to 1 bike to car ratio, even if they are mostly Harleys. :turtle Even the 'all girl Harley group' making U-turns in the middle of the highway were there!

I trust Greg got his fishin' reel swapped out and made it home safely before the deer attacked. My only regret was that my TIVO shut down in the last minutes of the Spurs game! The things we sacrifice for the 'ride'.

Yep made it back, but not with out a close call with a turkey just past Sister Creek.
Great day on the road for me and I hope to do it again. Thanks again Chris for putting that ride together.
Oh, My "Cajun" wife tells me the cajun's came up with the "meat pie" thing. I don't know I just like to eat em! The cajun's probably use something other than beef though......not complainin jus staten fax.....
Once again, It was great meeting and riding with you fellas and learning where a couple of more getaways are.

I was gonna look to see if he snapped any of us.

Couldn't resist, I ordered a download. The first and only "riding pic ever, for me.
Though I wouldn't call it a hero shot.
I cannot believe how dusty the blue girl is after that ride. She will have to wait until friday for a wash though.
