Well on my way to the Ohio Mansfield Breakfast RTE, I took a slight detour to check out Mrs. Rowe's where some CampSTocers and FriendSTocers are going to meet for lunch on Friday, May 16 and 'exchange a certain notorious foreign prisoner'. ;-)

It's located in Staunton, VA right at I81 exit 222 where highway 250 connects. If we know an approximate number in advance, we may can reserve a private room in the back.

Mellow - Can you say PIES?

Just talked to Miss Wanda at Mrs. Rowes and the room I was hoping to get is already booked. But they said they should be able to put us at least 10 to a table. If the group that has it reserved cancels, they will put us in the room. If you get there before me, we are identified as the "STOC" group. I told them we would be a bunch of old greyheaded men and lovely ladies wearing funny looking suits. ;-)

We're staying in Winchester the night before so we'll just have a short ride to lunch, get all stuffed, then ride to Willville. Probably set up camp, then go eat again!:eat1:

It's sounding like this is going to be a significant sized group. While I'm excited about the potential turnout and meeting everybody, should we try and get an approximate count to give a heads-up to Mrs. Rowe?

Gotta question here guys.
All along, this has been posted as 11 AM, now I see on the RSVP page it has
1:00 PM -3:00 PM.
By 1:00 PM, I'm figuring on being down the road a ways.
Anybody really know what's going on?

George

Uncle Phil
04-28-2008, 03:22 PM
Well, lunch is right at 11:00 AM or as close as we can get to it. At least that's when I'm planning on eating. Everybody else can wait until 1 PM if they like - that just means more pies available for me! ;-)

Probably because the time was changed it wiped out all the people that had already signed up. Looks like you have to resign up if you had signed up before.

Good point Gene. Or, you could take other state highways north to Staunton (or gasp! I-81) and the BRP back to Willville. Either way, leaving Willville by 7am may not be early enough!

Dave it looks like the interstate won't be that much quicker really and a lot less fun. S+T has the parkway at 3.5 hours so figure 4-4.25 to be realistic, leave 7 sharp be there 11-11:30 taking our time. I wonder what time Will brings the coffee?

Just called Mrs. Rowes and they are prepared for us. They figure they should not need over 120 state troopers and a couple of National Guard units to deal with us. ;-) Anyway, they will try to seat us at a couple of really large tables especially built to hold large amounts of pies. If you get there first, just tell them you are with the STOC group so they know which paddy wagon to put you in.
