This was posted by a really cool rider Rick Madlem over on the MTF site... I know so many know Helen and Roy on this site and wanted you all to see what they think of you all... EVEN,,, Coop... :crackup

From: madlem1 9:42 am
To: ALL

On Friday, Lisa and I ate lunch at Moonshine. We also took a cooker that I have to them for next weeks Ride In. In our conversation with Helen I asked her what her feelings are on such a big undertaking. She immediately broke into a big smile and said that she has been excited about it ever since the date was announced last year. A tear almost welled up and she said "of all the groups that come to see them, Terry's ride is the most well mannered, fun, and gracious bunch of people she has met". She couldn't stop talking of how she and Roy were invited to particpate in other activites with the group and the politeness, friendliness, and no bad language being used. Having a group of our size is an enormous undertaking and she stated that she did NOT hear one complaint from the crowd.

I believe that Helen & Roy Tuttle gave the "Terry's Bike Group" one of the best compliments that anyone could and all of you should be proud to be a part of it. Also thanks to Terry "working on a full stomach this week" Hammond for setting this up.

See you all at Moonshine,

Rick

My respones to Rick Madlems post is what follows...

Well,,, to those that know me,,, that just made me cry... I know,,, not hard to imagine... Helen and Roy are 2 of my favorite people on earth... They have seen it all at Moonshine and that statement makes me very happy... Thanks Rick,,, you are far,,, FAR TO COOL!!!

The People I have met from this wacky idea sprung 4 years ago more than pays off the work involved... BlueMoon/BaddBob/Tim Yow/Rick Madlem/Putt/Jody/Curt/Toypro/Coop/Tom Bognar to name a tip of an iceberg I would have never gotten to know without the Moonshine Run... Last Years Long Distant Winner George from Kingman AZ,,, we now are friends because of this run... Jon Kohler who won another year is staying at the farm this year as he too is returning...

Richard Buber,,, who also won the Long Distant award,,, I mean to have a rider like him tell little ole me that the Moonshine Run is 1 of his "Must Do" rides and plans on making everyone??? You would put up answering E-Mail and folding shirts for any of those,,, and there really is so much more we all,,, get from Moonshine...

The Simple explanation??? We all ride a total of over 270,000 miles to a little town called Moonshine to eat a Moonburger and go home... But we all take home so much more... ;)

Hey, Coop, I _am_ home for a family reunion. Gonna leave here to go to Moonshine. Equal status in my book. I'd bring mom with if I could get her on the bike. She used to ride but won't no more.

See youse guys Thursday/Friday/Saturday.

She's probably feisty enough, she just doesn't want to mess up her do. See you Thursday George.

I hafta say this... I cant stop myself.

IMO, I think how Mellow runs this board sets the standard, that we act like ladies and gentlemen. The expectation is that we are "family friendly" and I have to say that each ST Owners event I have attended, this has been upheld. :) Yes, adult beverages are consumed. But I have not been in an uncomfortable situation yet.

So Joe, thank you for setting the expectation that we are above the line. I think the comments shared here show that.

We all need a reminder that Moonshine is _not_ a STOC event. Terry pulls folks from many venues, most notable Connies and LD Riders. So, good folks are not exclusive to this forum. Not detracting from anything that Alicia says about Joe, just a reminder that we are not alone. :D

Have you been to the Mother Ship too? Those little green guys make cement burritos that they dip in used motor oil. They say it keeps them regular. Nanu, Nanu!!

I agree that the way we treat others on here sets the standard...

Being that I have Rode/Wrecked many other bikes I noticed good people on each board I hung out on...

EVERY,,, board I visited did NOT,,, turn out so rosey... I hang out on all these boards,,, and all act/are/treat each other as friends...

:D
