View Full Version : Group Buy *** Hyper-Lites***

I recently purchased some items from Racerpartswholesale.com and had a great experience. They are local to my area and offer that item can be picked up to save on shipping. While I picked my items up I asked if they would be interested in offering a group buy to ST-owners.com. So...I thought I would try it with Hyper-Lites.
Racerpartswholesale is offering a special on hyper-lites. Its not a huge discount as he said he does not have much wiggle room on this item, but hey...its something.
For those who don't know what Hyper-lites are: Demo (http://www.hyperlites.com/images/hyperlites-lg.gif)
Here is the offer:
Hyperlites HYP-DFUNIV (http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/product/3122/Hyper_Lites)
Price: $67.95 with me picking them up. Shipping will be whatever it cost me to ship them to you. If you can get them at an event from me then cost for shipping will then be FREE.
Your saveings: $6.00 on the lites and at least $5.00 on shipping depending on how they are delivered.
Funds will need to be paid before an order is placed as I don't have the money sitting around to pay for 10 sets.
We need a minimum order of 10.
If this group buy goes well, then maybe we can set some other Group Buys with this vendor. They are the owners of Helen Two Wheel Bags Also!

Great. I wait three years to buy hyperlites and finally broke down this winter and got them for full price. UGH!!!

I did the same thing myself this winter. I am not even getting a set, just thought I could help some others out with something I wish I could have got in on in the two years I have been a member here.

Count me in for three... yes, three! Also, I'll take three license plate brackets as well if possible.
I know the brackets aren't part of this buy, but hey...if I don't ask...
However, I'm serious about the three sets of hyper-lites. I have four bikes and the fourth is strictly off road and does not need it.
Let me know the details for payment.

I'll take one bracket also (if he'll match or beat the price)... I think that would make for a really clean install... :D

I would prefer the license plate bracket version, but I will take the "regular" if that is the only group buy option. Thanks for thinking of us all!

I'm interested in a set. License plate bracket mounting.
Clarification. These are the 8 LED dual function units, correct?

You are correct. These are 8 LEDs per pod and are dual function. With both pods there is a total of 16 LEDs. Seems these are what many have used on their backs with brackets behind the rear reflectors.

The price is for two, correct? How hard are they to wire in? I think they are a much needed addition to the bike, but I don't want to tackle a wiring job that's going to be difficult. I'm not the best when it comes to electrics.

You are going to get two pods of 8 LEDs. Check this thread out on what you will get:
http://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2813&highlight=hyperlites
These are the same as those except these have the option of running 30% brightness along with the tail light.
I don't know how hard they are to install because I have not done mine yet. Does not look that hard to me though.

They are not hard to install. Search the board there are examples.
I think it took about 45minutes. I used the provided taps to pick off the brake and ground wires. Also used the provided telco bean connectors to join the two lights to the controller.
As I recall it involved pulling the rear rack cover, removing the seat and dropping the rear fender assy to get to the wires. Used an L bracket where the rear reflectors are, to mount the leds.
They have saved my bacon twice.

Landon - appreciate you taking the lead on this. As bad as I wanted them, eased off the buying frenzy to take care of the latest maintenance and heated grip installation; plus have the usual spring homeowners' dues, maintenance contracts etc. Daughter's college graduation coming up in a little over 3 months so limiting the farkles right now. Looking at replacing the windshield next. Rode to DC and back last week and the winds beat me up. What is your windshield opinion?

I run the stock shield, I like it as I ride with it down unless its raining or cold. If you decide to go with something else, let me know...I may be interested in your stock shield as mine is getting scratched up and I noticed to top film layer is starting to come off.

Since we have reached ten units, I will start collecting the money for them. Please keep in mind that this will run until Sunday for others to get in, then was all money is recieved the order will be placed. I am sure Racerparts will have to order them and then I will get them and ship. So we maybe talking about 2-3 weeks before you have them in your hands.
If any of you are attending CampSTOC I can hand deliver them there to save on shipping.
Expect to be getting a PM from me with your total and payment options.
Also...when you send a check or use paypal make sure you include your internet handle in the comments or memo section so I can figure out that "John Doe" is HILLBILLYBOB on here. Thanks.

I installed mine two weeks ago. I decided not to add the flasher unit and just have them light up as a secondary brake light. I mounted them to an "L" bracket attached to the rear side reflectors. They look great when lit. Between the headlight modulator, Stebel horn and Hyperlights they will either see me or hear me!
