I was wondering, how many ST riders rely on a CamelBak or similar personal hydration system when on a long ride. Last year nfl and I took a 5500 mile ride throughout the southwest deserts. We can't sing the praises enough of our water back packs (and mesh armor).

Yep me too. If I'm going to be on the bike for more than 1-2 hours, camelback goes with. Maybe next we should do a poll to see what folks fill'em with. . . . .on second thought, bad idea. Could be too much information. . . :beer8:
I keep my camelback in the left hand fairing pocket so I can make hot instant coffee. :D

When I was riding across Texas last July all I had to do was leave the CamelBak on my back for an hour and I had water hot enough to make coffee! ;)

Good point, Charlie. Now that I think back about it, it was only the water in the tube that got really warm. I recommend anyone that is considering getting a personal hydration system to get the wide-mouth cap version. Those will allow you to shove ice in the thing. There is nothing like sipping on ice water while riding through the heat of the desert.
Warm water in the tube...Bite the valve and blow 'til you feel bubbles..Now suck that nice cold water.
ConSTant hydration allows me to go n/s to my son's in Oregon 930 miles away. My joints are my limiting factor, gotta keep them lubed 8-)

We added long tubing so driver and passenger can reach the bite valve.
