From my fairing deflector: dropped one of these into the bowels of the bike - what are they called? I need to go to the dealer tomorrow and would like to ask for them by the proper name, and not 'the little black pressure mounted push pins that slide into a receiving sleeve' :)

They look similar to the pins on the bottom of the windshield slide covers (front)

The parts manual located at:

http://www.servicehonda.com/hard%20parts/street/st1300%202003-2004/2003-2004%20st1300.pdf

shows part number 90116-SP0-0003 (#23 on page 204 of 255) is called a push rivet.

When you cross-reference than part number at www.hondaonlineparts.com it comes back as a bumper clip seal.

Whatever you want to call it, it's a $2.00 plastic rivet.

Hope this helps.

 Amazing...

I scanned the PDF earlier and convinced myself it wouldn't be in there since this is an accessory. Push rivet!

:bow1: sttourer - thank you kind sir.

The same rivet secures the middle cowl lid with or without the wind deflectors.

Glad to be of service.

When I measured my deflector plastic rivet with the stock plastic rivet, the deflector plastic rivet was longer. The deflector rivet must pass through the deflector and the plastic access panel, whereas the stock rivet only neds to pass through the access panel.

If you find the part number, can you please let me know?

TIA

Do some wheelies and stoppies in the driveway. That should shake it loose and save you a trip to the dealer. Of course you might need a trip to the clinic then. ;)
