Just wanted to say hello. Bought my 1300 about 2 weeks ago and have been having a blast on the roads here in Vermont. I've been reading up on everyone's thoughts and comments for the last week or so and love this site. I've learned more in the last week about the 1300 then I ever knew about my last bike (Yamaha 650 Maxim) since I bought it in 1980.
Unfortunately my bike is in having it's 600 mile maint. and I am going thru serious withdrawl since I dropped it off Saturday. Thanks to the many postings here I made sure to request they also change the shaft oil and I plan on changing it again in another 200 miles. Will continue to read all I can of the postings on this site and hope to be able to contribute some useful information as I get more in tune with my new ride.

Welcome to the site, if you have any questions just ask and I'm sure you'll get some good responses (along with the smartass remarks from me :D ).
Also, don't forget about EaSTOC, NeSTOC and ConSTOC that are happening in your area.. it would be a great time to see other bikes in person.

Hardly "The Collective" but certainly like minded individuals who appreciate a fine m/c and are passionate about riding. This is by far the best website for great information and advice on the ST. We also have an eclectic mix of geeks, nerds dweebs and nuts who are just plain fun.
Be careful there is a tiny, and luckily not growing, minority who will try to turn you to the dark side  . Ignore the impassioned pleas about your ancestry, remember your name is not Luke. The GW represents undistilled evil in what otherwise would be a harmonic universe, no DQ is safe. :D :D
Welcome and join the fun. Enjoy your new ST and ride safe. :bow1: :biker:

i'm sure at some point that will be on the agenda. i have a lot of roads around Lake Champlain, the Green Mountains and the Adirondacks to cover also. I want to head over to Lake Placid soon. I remember that being a beautiful ride many years ago.

You do live in a beautiful area. Some years ago my wife and I spent some time in your area. I remember the great views from I-87, the sun coming up on Lake Speculator and Lake Placid. I also remember waiting 10 days in our rain soaked tent for the sun to come out so we could cross Lake Champlain in the sunshine. Aw, the memories!
Welcome aboard!

Where`s Underhill?
Underhill is an area in the village of the Shire in Middle Earth. Frodo & Bilbo Baggins live nearby in the Shire. Gollum is right around the corner...
