View Full Version : Escort Cordless Solo S2
Anyone seen this one in action? I like the cordless feature, and the display looks like it would be easier to read in different lighting conditions... same performance as the 8500 series they claim...
which aspect of the cordless units do folks have issue with? Performance?
Thanx man, I'll dig further into some of the published tests... this one's new enough it may not have been done yet though. Maybe Escort will fess up if asked...

Almost impossible to see in direct sunlight. This from Escsort and others that have used it.

I tried the Solo S2 and sent it back. Went for the Escort 8500 which has twice the range. Last radar detector I bought is the Bel RX-65 which is also great. I hear the updated Valentine 1 is also good. I have the Bel RX-65 connected into the bike audio and like that I tells me verbally what band is active. A good web location is http://www.radarbusters.com/default.asp for Radar/Laser tests and info. The Bel RX-65 is software upgradable if new bands or formats of radar come out. I believe the Bel RX-65 is currently the only detector that works with the new Ku band radar due to be released this year in the USA. Check out Radar Roy's info on laser on the above web page.

I use the 8500 also. I like the voltage reading you can have the detector output when it does not have a signal in sight. I've heard the blue is too bright to run at night. I've got the red version.
