I just got the call tonight that my contract job assignment is over. So I decided I need a road trip before starting the next one. So I'm canceling this RTE for now. As soon as the road and job dust settles I'll set up the next one. Probably after CreSTOC and maybe before WeSTOC. Sorry guys! I need to get out of Dodge for a bit!

Ok, I finally see the post you're talking about. You guys have the weirdest way of putting together a RTE and it's not even posted in the RTE forum, then the location is almost a secret....wow!

Anyway Seligman..... wow, 458 miles one way by the quickest route. So what you're proposing is essentially a SS1000 for a RTE? I'm thinking that's a bit ambitious for a guy with a bad back. Riding doesn't seem to aggravate the back, that's the good news and maybe a whole day on the bike would be good for me. I'd sure hate to get 458 miles from home to discover that it was a bad idea.

The other consideration would be taking out a 3rd mortgage on the home to pay for the gas...LOL

Come on Dana...I routinely ride 360 miles one way for a slice of Turbo Tom pizza...besides, gas gets cheaper the farther east you travel.

Oh, it's so tempting. I wish you guys wouldn't bait me like this. You don't have a clue how badly I want to join you. Two things stopping me. The wife would kill me (I don't have a clue how many atta boys it would take to make up for this!) and I know that 13+ hours in the saddle is likely to be dangerous with my pain meds.
