I've had my Givi Topbox for over two months now and really like it. Today I took it off for the first time in over a month to bring my ST to the dealer for new Z6's and the recall work. Also for the first time I removed the saddlebags and rode without the tank bag. My ST was incredibly stable. It was dreamlike, deadnuts, straight line impossibly stable. It felt much lighter. My milage appeared to have improved also. I never considered my fully loaded bike to be instable, just a little more susceptible to crosswinds, truck wash and road imperfections than unloaded with saddlebags. This degree of stability was an improvement over the ST with empty saddlebags too. I intend to experiment with different configurations once I get back from NeSTOC and my trip to NH.

AgSTreak,

I experienced the same thing. When I took my ST in for the recall work, I took off the Saddlebags and topbox, first-time ever since I bought it one year ago and it sure seemed to handle better.

I may experiment also, I thought I was on a sport bike, not on a sport tourer.

I felt the same thing, like I was riding a sport bike. :)

That is why you should crank up your preload. I noticed early on that my bike would weave whenever the rearend squats. That is my only gripe about the bike.

John, you trust the dealer to finish the recall work in time for NESTOC??? You either have nerves of steel or a lot better dealer than I have. :bow1:

John...good luck on the recalls. They got mine in and out in 1 day. I couldn't believe it.
