Garmin 60CS Question

Anyone here think it's outa line to expect that the uinit come with the USA map CD ?

I mean , dang, the unit Cost almost $500, and the basic map pack is not totally useless , but Gee, I have to Pay another $125 bucks to get the Full use of the unit ???

Seems a little cheasy to me. It won't even do Autonav with the basic package.

Maybe i'm missing something, chime in here .

go to 4x4 books.com and read up on the unit, looks like it will auto nav. both the 60cs map and the 60cs both say auto nav. and have a base map already built in along with 56k of memory for downloading some other maps like topo etc. :biker:

Yeah , it Auto Nav's to a general location. No addresses , Or POI's unless you buy their SW.

I'm surprised to hear this. I purchased a Garmin Quest recently and it came with the 2-CD Map Source software. These two units are similarly priced too. Strange. I'd call Garmin and voice your displeasure, maybe they will budge.

Just posted them a message , let's see how they respond. May sell the 60CS . I like its Size, but the Quest is Close enough.

Somehow I missed the fact about the SW not being included. The Box looked nice and even though it stated SW could be downloaded, I did not realise it also was not free. Jumped in that frying pan.

BTW , Speedo On Bike Indicated 70 GPS = 65
Indicated 140 GPS = 130

My 85 V65 Sabre, Fairing and Bags had an indicated 155 :) no GPS
