Should be a nice ride down. Are they still having it, even though it's Memorial Day weekend?

Excellent! Lemme check the map . . .
Shoot. That's almost opposite the way Jeff and I need to be riding that Saturday. Well, good deal anyway. I'll cross post this to the HSTA group (all dozen of em in Kansas!).

Larry - thanks for the update. I plan to come, and maybe bring a Wing rider and a Ducati rider with me. BTW, Will - I had another malt in Howard today. (One does glean useful information on the RTEs.)

Larry (or other SE KS guys): Is Carson Lodge the Masonic Lodge in Elk City? Neither the Zumo nor MapQuest recognize "Carson Lodge." I guess we could cruise in on Hwy 160 and follow the bikes, or the smell of bacon. The weather forcast is a little iffy at present, but even at a 30% chance of rain it's a 100% chance of biscuits and gravy.

Roger, Yes the Carson Lodge is the Masonic Lodge in Elk City… At the intersection of US 160 Hwy and County Road 5250 there will be a small gas station on the SE corner of this intersection, you will turn west and go four or five blocks to the stop sign and you will see the bikes and everyone from there….. Just park in the middle of the street with all the other bikes….. Hope the weather holds for a good turn out.. Here is a small map of the area
Hope this helps.....

Well, Larry steered us right, and the weather turned good. Probably the best $6 breakfast anyone's ever had. Biscuits & gravy, bacon, scrambled eggs and good sausage (local?) Sticky cinnamon roll for desert that looked homemade. I passed on the hash browns, waffles, and a few other things (gotta watch the GVWR...) What'd we have, six ST13s? Hwy 160, from Hwy 99 to Elk City, was curvy and senic. An unbelieveable number of turtles crossing the road in the morning, and lots of buzzards soaring in the afternoon. We did a run to the reservoir afterwards, and headed home via the backroads. Maybe we ought to make this a regular outing.

Larry: this is the fourth Sunday, rather than the last Sunday of each month, right? I was planning to go tomorrow, and just re-read your initial post. Well, there's always July...

Roger, Yes it is the fourth Sunday of every month ….. in a lot of cases it works out to be the last Sunday I guess this is where it can be mistaken as the last Sunday….. Glad you enjoyed it and want to return…. Hope to see you there again………. 07-27-2008 7:00 am to 11:00 am…. Sometime breakfast items get a little thin after 10:30 am on a slower turnout day…..
