How about north western WV ?

Nice. Or the Ozarks. I like the late April to Mid May time frame you have been selecting, so the farther south (warmer) the better!!!!

If you make it up nawth, make it a bit later in the year so we can enjoy the nicer weather up there.

I spent 13 months in CT and the weather is pretty mild in the spring, Kempo's statement is true. Don't turn up your noses at Brian's place cause it really rocks and the roads are good too.

Well, you could go for something exotic, Joe. A place so far removed from normal civilization that the intrepid George has never been there...

Yuma. February or March would probably be best:) Mac's been here, but George never has....

TentSTOC will be the western U.S. camping event. CampSTOC is basically for the East of the Rockies locations.

How about somewhere scenic, like Newark, NJ?

Think East of the Big Muddy River folks....

I liked having one large campfire instead of separate campsites & loops & folks spread out. Where ever the next location... I suggest the campground have a large group area for us to use, perhaps separated from the "regular" campers so we don't disturb any young families. And hopefully with a bathhouse within easy walking distance.

+1 on the Ironhorse. That's probably the best motorcycle campground that I've ever been to. I also like Hiawassee, GA.

Perfect! Hows this:

My camper is on Site C9 (top right of the map). My bud Nelson who is on an RT12 is on C10. The safari field is right in front of me as are bathroom and shower house (where the star is). Good campfire at my site as well as being away from people a bit.

Plus the big bonus is getting Brian (Georgeorge) in the mix. He can't ride with any of us during the season.

We've been shlepping down south for 3 years. Come on my SOUTHERN brothers...It's your turn to come up here! C'mon guys:o: :o:

Kentucky, GA, or TN area is always nice..... somewhere they don't already have an annual stoc event would be nice. Ozarks are nice this time of year. No matter where you have it, you won't be able to make everyone happy, some may have to travel further than they'd like but hey.. others have done that in the past also.

I'll basically grab a few of the top 5 areas and put a poll together.. then, leave it up for a month and see how it works out.

We've had 2 in AR, 1 in GA and 1 in VA. I have no problem having one in far northeast then pulling it back into AR... sorta making it accessible to different people each year.

I'm thinking that if enough of us write Joe in during the November election, the White House lawn might be an option.

http://www.fs.fed.us/oonf/ozark/recreation/caverns.html

This is a US Forest Service park ... has group camping area and two other 'normal' camp areas. The cavern is outstanding ... nearby towns have LOTS of things to see and do.. including folk music on the streets during the weekend. The roads ... WOW.... some of the best in the Ozarks and most of them are not overly busy... but NO guardrails... you screw up on these and you gonna soar like an eagle and land like a toad.

The FS is eager to promote this area as it is underused ... and they MIGHT be agreeable to a special rate.

Plus, the price is nice.... how's,.... say ..... free for tent camping sound? And we have cabins for those woosie boys who won't camp. I can't do free on those though, but I can give a 25% discount on those. And they sleep 5 so you woosie boys can split the cost.

And maybe I'll even come out of the house and tent it with you guys.

Our group area has water and electric on every site. And there is a bath house with showers right there too. Free..... cept 25 cents for a shower.

Ahhh...just put up a map of the Eastern part of the United States, walk back about 15 feet, and toss a dart. Wherever the dart lands, that's where we'll have it. :D Unless you can't hit the map and it lands in the ocean or something. At that point, try try again. :crackup

Well we also have fellow ST-OWNER Kerry (Flyboy909) and his lovely wife Nancy who are part of a really good band that will likely play at the campground this summer.

they have offered to Play at CT STOC, just need to work through the logistics..So how does Camp Live band stoc sound? (Pun Intended)

Also, home cooked chili/burger meal at my house Saturday after our ride..
The original banner will be flying...Head back the 8 miles to the campground as single unified group to a live concert!

Oh yeah..My wheels are spinning in my head...(scary thought)

You guys toss it around..I'll work on getting the dunking booth:D :D :D

This thread is closed....

The 2009 CampSTOC location will be Brian's campground (The Water's Edge Campground (http://www.watersedgecampground.com/))

I'll work with him to get a date that works and then post an announcement.

Thanks for all the comments.

BTW - for 2010, Arkansas will be the location.
