Here is an announcement that I had nothing to do with,,, so the weather will be perfect I am sure... Some over at the MTF want to meet up at Moonshine and,,, as long as it isn't bad weather,,, I will plan on being there... :crackup

Here is the post by BaddBob... If you are planning on coming,,, post here and I will let Bob know...

I SMELL A NEW LIST!!! :duck:

Saturday June 14th 11:30AM at Moonshine, IL. This is an informal RTE for those of us who need a Moonshine Burger fix to get us thru the summer. Terry will have no responsibility in putting this together. He get's to come eat and enjoy visiting with everyone. Nothing formal, but I'd appreciate it if you would let me know if you are planning to attend so we can let Helen know about how many to expect. Also please remember that the grill get's turned off at 12:30 without exception. Moonshine is located near Casey, IL. (just in case you have been under a rock for the past 3 or 4 years) Please register here and let me know if you have questions.

Regards

So... I'm a definite maybe. Just gotta check with the boss and see what she's got on my calendar for that day.

On a side note, new houses suck. The new house isn't new, you see, it's 13 years old, so there are enough projects to eat up riding weekends from now until 2010. I love the house, but need to find some time to ride.

I am 93.2% positive that the moonburgers will not be as good if it is not below 40 with at least a 30mph wind from the North. :D

Can you imagine "sweating"
at Moonshine? Why, it just would not be right! ;)

Now let's see, if I run up to Yellowknife and Inuvik in the next week and a half, turn around and run down to Moonshine for the 14th. then turn around and run back up to Dawson City for D2D on the 20th, I could take a lesurely run up the Haul Road to Deadhorse and go through Denali and then back down the Cassiar, and be home for my birthday on the 3rd of July. Or Key West to do the ultimate Coast to Coast. And of course I'm only going to be 65, so it should be doable, RIGHT!!! I don't think so!!! Maybe back in the day.

Some... :(

About 1/2 will be replanted... About 4 full fields I will disk up and replant... A few others I will just take the planter and drop it in to plant where the corn didn't come up in the rows... Problem is,,, it is still to wet yesterday,,, and it rained late afternoon last night... :(

It is still,,, STILL,,, to wet to disk where the beans will go,,, and will be for about 4 more days at least...

Wettest year I ever remember so far... What worries me is,,, "Everything Averages Out" so,,, sometime this year,,, we will be very very very dry... :(

Other than that,,, Things are great!!! :crackup

I only asked because I knew you posted you got your planting done before anyone around. We (Ohioans) have most fields at least 4" and some as high as 8" and I don't know how some of those guys did it cause their fields were submerged in March and early April. Sorry about your crop and hope you can recover before the drought.

Do you really mean to say 'Stand In" or would it be more accurate to say "Kneel Down?"

I am giving thought to making this run. 175 miles, eat a burger, 175 miles. Sounds like a perfect day. So is this burger big enough to hold me for the 175mile trip back home or am I going to have to get a few White Castles mid way?

Not for me as I've never been to this world renowned event before. My plan is to eat 3 or 4 Moonburgers then tickle my throat with a goose feather, purge, and then do it all again! I want the most from this first time experience! I hope we get to the "free napkins" level of sign-ups.

I just made it back home and would like to thank everyone involved for a great meet. I had no idea there would be that many there. I guess people come from miles around frequently to have a Moonburger? My bill was $9.01 and I did not leave hungry nor did I have to stop for Whitey's on the way home.

I got to meet the Honorable ACL. All I can say is his definition of "Tub of Goo" and mine are vastly different. I'd define his as more of a "Thimble of Goo" I do know that hanging out at that joint would increase my girth at an exponential rate.

I met some really nice folks and learned of more upcoming rides/RTE!!! It was pleasant to see all makes and models of bikes and their pilots happily cohabiting.

I took a boat load of pictures that I will post soon.

Thanks again!

Well after a couple of detours down one lane gravel roads due to water over the roads around Mt Erie and then the GPS took me past Moonshine down a gravel road that turned to mud before I could stop after I topped a little rise and plowed through the mud, I then missed the sneaky turn by the church I made it to Moonshine "184 miles" with mud all over my left boot and leg and down the left side of the C-14 and in the radiator. I pulled in with 30 min. to spare. Terry was on the front porch and welcomed me and got me pointed in the right direction for ordering a Double Cheese Moonburger. What a GREAT Burger well worth all the effort to get to Moonshine. It was nice meeting you Terry; I am looking forward to Moonshine in April.

I was going to post a couple shots of the Moonshine group today,
but as there was no snow, ice, sleet, hail, people huddled together for
warmth, visible breath condensation, and to top it off, and the sun was shining, I will defer.
I shall not post said pictures because with out a doubt, I would be accused
of PhotoChopping the above details out of the posted pictures...

I know that everyone has been hearing how "great" the weather was
at Moonshine this Saturday, but here is the "real" skinny...
Terry was there!! ergo:

I thought the store was closed during times of good weather like that.
