Are there any tips someone wants to share in regards to wiring a trailer connection from the ST1100 to a trailer? I'm using a flat-style connector with 1 male and three female connections. Is there enough power available to the circuit to run and extra set of brake lights and turn signals, ect?
I'm going to have the whole back end removed to install the Hitch. So, now would be the time to hook-up the wiring connections.

I don't know what kind of trailer you are pulling, but you are going to have to address the turn signals and brake lights. I just put extra amber lights for turn signals on trailers I built and ran a 6 wire connector(one wire not used). Trailers built for motorcycles already have separate turn signals and you have to run either 5 wires or add a special adaptor for the brake and turn signals if you only run 4 wires.

So you are saying it is not a wire for wire connection? The trailer I have is built for motorcyles. http://www.rollahome.com/

The trailer has: Red, green, yellow, brown, white for connections. And the current connector on the trailer is round with 5 connections.

I will also be using it for my pickup that has green, yellow, brown, white connections. So, I'll have to figure that one out.
It sounds like I will need 2 different style connectors on the trailer depending on what vehicle is pulling the trailer.
I will be using my truck this weekend. So, I'll need to figure that one out first.

If you are using the flat style plugin then I would say no it is not for a motorcycle, you have to goto Auto Zone or someplace like that and get the converter to make the bike work with your trailer. It is not a big deal just take your time. I am pretty mechanically challenged and I did it.

Curt,
You may want to look at this forum http://forums.delphiforums.com/MCTrailertowing/start.

I used all LED lights on my trailer. This included side marker lights, running lights, brake, tail, and flashers. Doing this eliminates the possibility of blowing fuses by overloading the circuit. The LED lights do not draw enough current to do this. I believe the above statements about using 5 wire connection is correct. That is what I have. Hope this helps. There are many listings on the Delphi forum about trailer wiring. Some used standard bulbs and required a fuses and inline relays which complicate things. LED seems to be the best way to go.

Figured it out. It was the 5th wire that was confusing me. It connects the set of running lights that stay on all the time. Works fine now.
