Pat..a late comer I am...but the money order is in the mail...cant wait to get 'em.I'm not sure I want to replace the ST1100 decals with these...I may just put them on the pans...From the sound of everyone's comments these will be awesome...once again Thankyou for all your efforts in this regard....:D :bow1:

Put them on the fairing... you can always put 1100 (or 1300) stickers on the panniers afterwards. The badges on the panniers look like an afterthought... IMHO.

Not sure where I'm going to put mine yet, but I'm thinking Hound may be right.

Mine are on and the bike is clean to boot!!! Now I just have to get a picture.

On a side note, I don't know what kind of glue Honda has on the back on their decals but dang!!!! I heated those suckers up with a hair dryer and only the decal came off. It left ALL the glue behind. I tried everything short of a die grinder to get that crap off with no luck. I've removed decals before but this was ridiculous. I finally had to take gasoline to it and that only just barely worked. Oye!!! But it was worth every bit of blood, tears, and swear words to see the new badges installed. Real purdy!!! I may just stop referring to her as an ST. "No, sir. That is a limited edition Honda Pan American."

For those who have yet to remove their ST1300 stickers:

Google "3M MMM8994", or find it at your local autobody supply shop. Should clean up the adhesive without issue. They make an aresol can of the same stuff too, but I'd stick with the quart can to avoid making a huge mess.

3M makes a stripe removal wheel you can attach to a high speed air tool as well. I've used this on cars with great success; typically on big jobs. A bit of overkill for two small decals and I'm a tad nervous to use it with how easily the factory paint scratches on this bike.

Has anyone left their ST1300 stickers on and placed the Pan-American badge below it??? I know it kinda' defeats the purpose, but I'm Polish and sometimes that's what we Pole's do.

You're right Don, looks good either place. At first I thought it should be in the conventional location, but I tried it in several places up front and thought it looked better on the Panniers.

Guys, I'm glad these have turned out so well!! I was sweating there for a while since it was taking so long; but it looks like they were worth the wait!!

I'm happy to have been involved with this, and I could not have made this happen without YOU!

So, who is doing the NEXT group buy???

The quality of these items is fantastic. I thought it would be a decal but it's much more then that.

Thanks again sirepair

Received mine when I got home Sunday evening, and they look super. Thanks Pat.
Someone said that they look like they were made for a red bike, but somehow I think that the black on black is going to look waaaay faSTer.

Glad you like 'em, Ben!

I'm kinda torn about installing mine. My ol STeed could use a paint job (faded Candy Apple Red) but I don't really want to take the time/expense to do it.....oh, what to do!!

I haven't checked to see if the ST1100 decals on the fairing are clear coated or not (I think they are) but I DID note that the Pan badges will just barely cover up the original stickers. Things that make you go "Hmmmmm".

BTW, there are still about 20 sets of badges available....

STBNE
12-05-2008, 03:22 PM
Well Pat...I guess that depends on wether or not you plan to keep the ol' ST11...if yo're looking at another bike then I guess you'd wanna hold off witht the badges.Dunno which option would be cheaper...re-paint or re-bike:biker:

Pat said he had 20 sets left last week. Send him (sirepair) a PM.

Got mine yesterday. Now I'm torn as to where to put them. Under the "ST1300" decal or at the back edge of the saddlebag, above where "HONDA" is embossed in the lower half. ARRGH! Decisions, decisions.

I know, I know. I just can't decide where the BEST place for them to be will.

And to be quite honest (and with no attempt to hijack the thread) I am waiting for a set of decals to arrive that will match the "ST1300" decal and read, "Honda Police Motors".

I saw a Ducati a few months ago that had the same, matching decal (well, almost, it said "Ducati Police Motors") on the tank and it looked really nice.

Once those are applied, I will know for sure.
