I bought my 06 ST1300 to replace my totaled 03, which I totaled hitting a deer. I was banged up so I had a friend ride it home for me.

With 11 miles on it I was backing it out of the garage to take my first ride. I realized that I forgot something in the house and flicked the sidestand down (or so I thought). I leaned the bike onto the stand which wasn't down and BAM! down went the bike.

After looking around to make sure no one saw me, I managed to get the bike back up and I couldn't believe it. Just a slight scuff on the tip over wing! After the initial shock I thought how cool is that.

Actually.. You didn't have 11 miles.. your friend did...

since you were backing out... you actually had negative .00001 miles... THAT I believe is a record.. will have to check with the resident Zippo expert Finewest Fred, FF for short, but I think you have reached a whole new level.

That's gotta be close to the record. Gotta love the TOWs. At least it's over with now so you don't have to wonder when it's gonna happen.

Wasn't there a post from a guy who tipped-over before he left the dealer's parking lot?

I sure hope so, I don't think that I want to keep this record. I am so glad that there was nothing for the bike to hit on the way down to damage it. Still not sure how I got out of the way.

Now that particular issue will never give you a 2nds worry... :)
You can now start wondering about; heat, thermostats and green puddles... :)

Glad it was quick and clean,

Mark

... and green puddles...

Fortunately when you hit an alien they explode quickly thus not causing you to actually slow down ....

BeerTown: You need to update your 'dropped' counter. :D

And BTW, Portland is the new official 'Beer Town'

Thanks for the reminder. I haven't checked out my profile lately and didn't know that there was a spot for that.

I guess I am holding on to that old Milwaukee nickname. But yes there is only one large brewery in town now, but there are a few small ones trying to take up the slack of the Pabst, Schlitz, etc. that have moved on.
