New Chat Interface

Mark - Blrfl - found a new chat interface for us to use. It's much cleaner and has some more features than the one we were using.

We pointed to it last week but tonight will be it's first volume test.

Here's a brief run-down of some of the new features:

Links Work. Now you can double-click on a link and it will open up in a new window.

Private Chat. If you double-click on one of the nicknames along the right side, a new tab will open where you can have a private chat with that person.

See Who's Typing. Nicknames in the user list change color when someone is typing.

Fresh, Lemony Scent. Doesn't smell like sweaty sneakers like the old chat client did.

Multiple Channels. We've actually always had this, but the old client didn't support it. If you want to see what channels there are, type /LIST. If you want to join a channel, you can click on one when someone mentions it, or type /JOIN followed by the channel name. If you want a place to talk about pie, you can /JOIN #pie.

Works on Mobiles. Rumor has it this client will work on mobile gadgets. I don't have a mobile gadget to test it out on.
